Can I wear a navy blazer with navy chinos?
Can this actually be a thing? I knew that most people would call this as a mismatched suit. But I can wear navy overshirt with navy chinos pretty nicely, so why can't a navy blazer too?

No one will arrest you but it is very likely to look pretty bad.
When two pieces clothing are in too close a colour it looks like a poorly mismatches suit, instead of an intentional style choice.
Which is why certain colour combinations like, navy and black, are not recommended.
a lot of the time the blazer fabric will be different enough from the pant fabric in texture, sheen, and/or color shade (if you're using a standard gold button navy blazer, the different buttons would also be a sign) to where it's clear you were trying to wear two separates together
you certainly can try it (i did a variation recently https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1234904102245236766) but unless they either match closely or else the fit itself is so good that the mismatch feels intentional or doesn't matter, i wouldn't recommend it
