If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)tried the settings
...
iirc this has something to do with fog or transparency
try digging around in your shaderpack's settings
this happened when i accidentally touched the debug render settings in DH settings
i don't think it has something to do with the shaderpack because the LODS also don't show up
@Yeshi (GMT+2) where can i find the log?
/logs
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
i can see LODs in the first screenshot btw
that was before i fricked around
now i fricked around and found out
close the game, delete your dh config file, then relaunch
/configstored
To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
Anyways heres da log
did you make the config change for c2me?
did you do this https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1035937813310484540/1201688046110785556?

yes
lol we had the same idea
i've got a feeling this is an issue i've seen before but i can't put my finger on it
is there a way to preload chunks so they're stored as LOD data on distant horizons
i tried searching for the issue, but all other people fixed it by either setting transparrency to complete, restart the game, or both
if you wait, LOD's should be automaticly generated and stored
alright it worked
but we're back at square 1
maybe these errors have something to do with this
/binarysearch
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
the CPU needs the threads to generate chunks at a realistic speed right?
start with just sodium iris dh indium and fabric api
if those 5 work together, start adding your mods back
how do i disable?
just drag all the other mods out of the mods folder
gl
:cou:
hopefully won't end up taking that long to find the mod causing it
wait a second
what about those errors
they say something about world gen
probably a mod doing something to worldgen it shouldn't be doing
couldn't you just look at the log and see what the issue is?
i'm not seeing any known incompatible mods
so you'll have to start adding back half your mods at a time until you find the 1 mod causing the issues
@Yeshi (GMT+2) Ima just start with this batch
sounds good
one of these mods is maybe being silly
nope i got the error
try removing c2me. i wonder if a recent commit broke it
fyi, dont use lazydfu
I did
its in the purgatory folder
probably not the cause of the error, but mojang has implemented the same fix lazydfu implements a long time ago
try with just these tho
just as a sanity check
bruh isn't indium a dependency
and if fabric api is the issue then i might as well live with it
dh depends on it if using sodium
ok
so you should try with those 5 because they're the minimum amount of mods to get dh working with shaders
Alright next mods
if those are not the problem im gonna remove sodium
bye bye my performance
ðŸ˜
Alright minecraft refuswd to open
ima add back indium
because iris needs sodium
i didn't remove sodium yet
y know
i think the simplest fix would be to preload in the chunks
i don't think it's some mod
but the problem is minecraft it self
so lets try that
@Yeshi (GMT+2) how do you use the chunky chunk pregenerator
check the description of https://modrinth.com/plugin/chunky
it's got the usage
found something
lower the cpu load preset
whenever this comes into view the chat hides
your cpu is overloaded
its already at balanced
you might need to set it down to low impact
what's your cpu?
AMD ryzen 9 5900HS
its already at low impact
balanced should be fine on this cpu actually
did you remember to enable vsync / cap your framerate?
I always have that
anyways i reloaded the world and i still have the same issue
@Yeshi (GMT+2) yo what is that in the distance
probably 0,0
spawn chunks are always loaded thus lods are always generated for that area first
nah thats not 00
i set cordinates to my position
Right i cannot wait 18 hours for this to finish
for high render distances there's no other option really
I think thats good enough for now
though if only there was a faster way

neat
@Yeshi (GMT+2) what are good optimized settings for DH
defaults are okay
maybe change the quality and cpu load presets a bit but other than that there's no much
Change your transparency to complete
Its already solved
thanks though
sorry didn't realise til I posted it
its ok
Please remember to mark your issue as solved when its solved, I'll do it now
oh sorry i forgot
thanks
