Slideshow performance after logging in while monitor was off during boot
Clean installed the nvidia PC version of Bazzite 40 with KDE a few days ago now. Using Plasma X11. Probably the most aggregious thing I've done is manually shrink the boot drive partition by 20% using Gparted (emulating a function of Samsung Magician), but other then that I've just installed some Steam games, some emulator flatpaks and a few things from the Bazzite setup app.
When booting up after the PC's been shut off for a few hours, upon logging in the interface runs at about 0.2~0.5 FPS. Appears to be reproducible as it's happened on 3 out of 3 first boots. CPU and GPU usage are essentially zero.
Restarting or a cold boot just after the fact fixes the issue. Just tried logging out and logging back in and I just got a black screen instead. Seems like it has to be a wait longer then 90 minutes. Or it can all be superstituion, who the heck knows.
Considering reinstalling but I dunno if someone wants to check it out first

Now replicated it 3 times in a row, I can say with more confidence what's going on.
If the monitor is off or switched to another input (effectively off) while booting, after logging in that's when I get the sluggish, slideshow, everything reacts 5 seconds later performance. I know the monitor is considered disconnected in either case as Discord reacts to the monitor's audio input when switching, plus I've also got that notification bug where they appear in the center of the screen regardless of settings after switching inputs or switching the monitor off
Have had something similar that’s also connected to displays for what it’s worth; if I have the built in display switched off, frames are very slow under X11 on my external monitor. If the built-in is re-enabled, frames return to expected behavior. Haven’t had any trouble under the standard Plasma option (which I assume is using Wayland?).
Yeah, Plasma non-X11 is Wayland. I had trouble using that myself though, been waiting on that Nvidia driver update
