Should I Impulse-buy this?
Just saw this Brooks Brothers tweed jacket pop into my feed for 43 euros. Seems to be in pretty good condition with a nice glen-check..

Yes. I would.
Is 43€ a good price for this? I have little experience with the Brooks Brother market bc I live in Germany and BB is rather rare here.
I also live in Germany and yes, it's a good price :)
would make sure to check Brooks Brothers sizing tho
True. Has sizing remained somewhat consistent with them?
That I'm not sure on but it should be close enough
Allright. Im usually in between EU52 and EU54 so the fit would propably be a bit generous
44LG propably means its a long size?
i would check or ask for measurements
the ACTWU tag means it's some degree of vintage (70s-90s) and sizing was slightly different than their modern equivalents.
if it fits though, maybe offer 35-40 if you can to save a little?
easiest thing to do would be to ask the seller for measurements of the garment
and then measure a sport coat that you own and that fits to compare
Yeah, I asked for measurements - that way I also have some extra time to consider whether this is a good purchase.
Thanks for the input everyone ❤️
Here is to hoping the Jacket is not too large for me. (Im inbetween 42 and 44 and also inbetween regular and tall sizes)
i think vintage brooks tends to run a little short sometimes which may work out in your favor
Apparently it is 84cm long, which is a good size for me, given the lenghth of my torso. I think most of my jackets are in that wheelhouse but I will have to re-measure once I am back home.
Sad to report that the sleeves are only 61cm long (24,1'') - my "acceptably short" sleves start at 64cm
ah damn
which is much shorter than they normally ought to be on a 44L I think...
Here is to hoping there is ample fabric hidden in the hem (propably not...)
if it doesn’t fit you can easily flip it!
if a deal is good you also shouldn’t wait too long otherwise it‘s gone 😄
If I know that I can easily flip an item I‘ll just buy it without being fully sure whether it will fit me
Flipping stuff is not really my thing. Not worth the hassle for me
I usually sell stuff at the price I bought it if it does not fit
some things are very easy to flip; barely any hassle
sure, you can also flip it for the price you originally bought it
Okay, seller sent me this and said the total amount of fabric folded into the sleeve was roughly 6,5cm. Any idea how much of that a tailor can let out?
Impulse buying lol
Propably one of the more thought out buying decisions at this point.
