You mentioned you tried a 120fps cap, what fps are you currently getting?
it varies a lot
in elytra I get around 45
and 80 when on the ground
cap your framerate lower
your cpu is too busy doing other stuff to load new chunks
youre right, I had to lower the number of cpu threads or sum in video settings and its so much better.
