LODs do not work no matter what
I've read through all the FAQ's, have no extra mods added, using 1.20.2 forge with the 1.20.2 version of distant horizons, have deleted and reinstalled both forge and distant horizons and it still doesn't work. I don't know what I could be doing wrong.

I can see LODs rendering at the end there
its been like that for 10 minutges
Your vanilla render distance is unreasonably high
it hasnt changed from the screenshot for the past 10 minutes
Are you on 2.0.1 or 2.0.2?
the mod version?
Yeah
1 sec
2.0.1
Try the nightly from #links-n-downloads and delete your LODs
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
Also reduce your vanilla render distance. Most of us run 8 to 12 chunks
this link?
Yeah
Distant generation is known to get stuck in 2.0.1
wait so how do i delete my LODs
Delete the .sqlite files
oh ok
ill try that
wait @Yeshi (GMT+2) do i need to unzip anything from the nightly file
Yes
Use the merged jar found inside
alr
i tried it and it loaded a few LOD chunks but then stopped, im not sure if it was just loading incredibly slowly but i didnt see any more chunks being loaded, im gonna try allocate more ram and see if that changes anything
Are you trying to generate the LODs with your cpu impact on minimal impact?
i was but im trying it again on balanced right now
What cpu do you have
i7 10th gen
Yea with minimal impact it def won’t be doing much
Use the balanced preset with this CPU for sure
Should run fine
Keep in mind that the further out the LODs get the slower they seem to generate
Keyword: seem
Yes
It's all about perspective really
i tried it with balanced and this is what happened
it hasnt changed at all for the past 4 mins
dh config > advanced > debug > wireframe > enable the first 2 options
LODs don't generate when paused fyi
it'll show you the visualization of world gen tasks
and that
which ones
which options are you on about
scroll down
these?
yes
i did it and it does seem to be loading very very slowly like chunk by chunk but theres still bugged chunks in the middle that arent loading
yeah, then it's working
the lod strip was a known bug

where do i download it from that link
click build
yeah
then where
wrong one
ok i see it
do i click download under job artifacts
ok i think i found it
Also you should disable fog to see further
Advanced options -> graphics -> fog, set fog draw mode to disabled
yeah i think it works now
@Yeshi (GMT+2) i know this isnt the question i asked but do you know why DH doesnt work with optifine?
It should work with OptiFine
it doesnt seem to be
as soon as i added optifine to the mods folder it stopped working.
@Yeshi (GMT+2) any idea as to why its might not be working for me if not then thats fine
Not sure how OptiFine works on Forge I've never used it past like 1.16
backend changes of DH/Optifine/forge
one of that
if you're stuck on forge, try embeddium + oculus beta from their discord
otherwise, switch to fabric and use sodium + iris
ah alright
Also if you're just running DH and nothing else switch to Fabric
It's so much better
no im planning to use a bunch of other mods
Fair nuff
im just using only DH currently to test it out
Can you replace OptiFine with Embeddium?
ill try that
where do i get that from
modrinth
if you're not using shaders, 1.20.2 is fine
otherwise, 1.20.1/1.20.4 only
which one?
what modloader you're using
that one
oh ok
alright
