Iris 1.7 performance issues: SOLVED (by disabling debug mode)
I have an rx6800xt, ryzen 5600x, and am having dramatically lower performance when running with any shader on Iris 1.7 compared to previous versions. When running the base330 pack (basic pack from ShaderLabs discord) I get less than 100fps, whereas I got 300+fps on previous versions, and on both 1.7 and previous versions I get 1000+fps with no shaders in the same world.

Turns out I underestimated the Iris 1.6.17 performance, base330 runs at 900+fps on the older version:
and this is with just sodium and iris, no other mods
Turns out the issue was debug mode, seems there's an issue with AMD drivers and debug mode on the most recent Iris version

Wonder if this is the solution for #Iris incompatible with Amd Gpu?🤔?
and how would i disable the debug mode
Press Ctrl D in the shaders menu and click no
i got it
How did you even figure this out?
iirc it was talked about by IMS before
like a month ago
Ah okay, I never saw that then

actually this might be different
the important part is that if debug mode is on you can turn it off for better fps
IMS told me in the shaderlabs discuss, yeah I didn't figure it out on my own
An okay, gotcha
I will check that, I notice that performance is a bit lower than before. Thanks for the info.
