DH 2.0.3 not working
Hi I have used Distant horizons when it was in version 2.0.2, but ive recently installed it again and it updated to 2.0.3, Yippee! but when I'm in the game it doesn't seem to be loading even after waiting awhile and i cant see the little icon for the mod next to my fov. What is not working right? I've followed tutorials?

can you send your latest.log please
How do i find that?
AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/logs
Is that the correct thing?
it should be named latest.log
Im not saeeing latest.log and ive gone to the location. i just see a bunch of zipped files like what i sent, theres a file that says latest and when i click it theres a bunch of code
nvm thats it
:ioa:
im sorry. not very smart
for some reason the renderer is shutting down. Can you try deleting the distant horizons config from the config folder and try again?
ill go for it again, but i have tried that a couple times. i also still have dh 2.0.2 but my game crashes apon launch, im guess because its outdated
yeah the latest iris beta is made specifically for DH 2.0.3-a-dev so it won't work with 2.0.2-a-dev
It still did not work
does the DH settings button still not show up in the options menu? If so that is concerning
Also when i was loading it up, a pop up happened saying that dh needed and update. i clicked okay, and checked the mod folder, and now there distant horizons with like a bigger discription
I do not see it in the options either
I'm pretty sure clicking update installs the latest stable release, which is the version iris 1.7 does not support
this is what downloaded
Yeah i dont see the icon for dh in the options menu still
yeah that's strange. Try reporting this over in the DH discord
Sounds good. Ill go over over there, thanks for the help
Question. could it be an issue that my mods for dh is downloading too the "Mods" folder? I noticed i dont have an "Iris-beta-reserved"
the mods folder is where you want it to be if you have fabric
and it's showing in your logs so it's definitely loaded
Okay I fixed it and heres how. I had basically deleted the dh icon button (There is an option you can click that disables the button) To get that button back you can go into %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft/config and delete distanthorizons.toml. That brought the button back allowing me to turn the mod on and it works now
that's what I suggested up here and you said it didn't work :ioa:
So if I try to install the new 2.0.3 files, and they dont work so I only switch out the DH 2.0.3 file for an old 2.0.2 file would It just not work at all?
Because I saw some video that said I need 2.0.2 for it to work and 2.0.3 just spammed messages in my chat when I tried it
:linus:
can you help with my problem at all
Allow me to digest your issue, after I wake up from bed.
ok just lmk when you can help
Alright, I have read up all the conversation up to here, which I believe is your current issue. The solution to this problem is to disable distance generation in the Distant Horizons setting.
One issue this may cause is that chunks outside of your render distance will not be generated for Distant Horizons to work on generating the lods. This is an issue in 2.0.3-a-dev and will be fixed in future updates.
so I just turned this off
and it still leaves like after images like this
when I look around
I saw this and downloaded the nightly version one or whatever and it removed the spamming error messages I was getting but now does this weird after image thing
and I cant find a way to remove the nightly one and get back to just the regular version. Because then I would try turning off the distance generation and see what happens
That's a totally different issue. #Glitch when chunks are loading
In short, set Transparency to Complete in Advanced settings -> Graphics -> Rendering -> Transparency.
whats the difference between the beta and the normal mod?
Beta is where you test out hot new stuff before it goes out to the masses. Hot new stuff such as chances of getting your graphics card fried (exhibit A in #Bliss).
No joke by the way. Somebody experiencing blue screens testing out DH + Iris beta. Good thing their GPU didn't fry, otherwise that would be serious.
Latest Iris + DH looks weird.

Mind making your own post? I don't think yours is anything remotely similar to what's being discussed here.
Ok
I've been getting a lot of BSODs lately but I don't think it's from that because never when Minecraft is running
XD
For that is BlueScreenView from Nirsoft.
Ok
what's that do?
Shows info about what is causing BSOD's.
I see
yeah well I've had a bunch of Hypervisor errors, IRQL_equal_to_or_not_equal_to and also that one error that happens when the computer tries to write to ROM 🤣
