Can SK send in Actisense format on a USB/serial port?

sure, my original setup was Actisense NGT-1
Note that for some pgns you may need to use the Actisense software to enable them.
How do I configure that? Is it a plugin? I have a serial data source but I assume that's only input.
Using their NMEA Reader windows software.
The serial device is input and output.
Thanks. I was looking for a temporary workaround while I wait for my new CAN HAT, but it looks like I would need an OTG or (null modem) cable to connect the RPI to the laptop.
The NTG-1 would be connected to the laptop temporarily
Configure it, then move it back to the pi
I don't actually have an NTG-1. I'm using SH-ESP32 as a USB gateway.
Then ignore everything I said above
I have no idea if that can actually send data or if/how it could be configured
Pretty sure they can send data, but not sure if they can be configured to advertise which pgns they send, which would be needed to select them as a data source on a device like an MFD.
But in theory, if I could resolve the serial/usb "host vs host" issues, I could connect a PC running Actisense to the RPI, and the RPI (SK) would transmit in Actisense format on the serial port, to be read by the PC software, correct? The SH-ESP32 doesn't actually play a part in that.
No.
The PC software is used to configure an NGT-1, which you don’t have.
Not exactly sure what you are attempting to do at this point???
I see.
I'm trying to access SK data (specifically, Derived Data) using the serial port, since my CAN HAT is broken. But it's a fairly unusual use case so not worth putting a lot of thought into.
in general, it is much better to describe what you have and what you are trying to achieve rather than something very specific
like at this point, after a bunch of messages and some false starts i don't have the faintest idea about either of these points...
What I have is an RPI SK server with no CAN connection, and a SH-ESP32 configured as a bidirectional USB gateway. I was hoping that SK would forward data generated on the RPI (in this case, from pypilot and derived data) to the USB port where the SH-ESP32 is connected, but this isn't the case. However, I feel like I've wasted a lot of everyone's time already, because in a few days I will have a new (presumably working) CAN HAT and I can simply re-enable the SK->N2K plugin.
