What is considered Sunday Best
I got a banquet for orchestra coming up and the attire they said was Sunday Best. I was not prepared for this because in previous years it was suits or button shirts for men, so i ended up buying a suit before the rsvp came out. Can I still wear it to the banquet without it being odd? the suit is all brown with a brown vest and pants and i was planning on wearing a black shirt underneath and a dark tie with brown feather patterns

I’d skip the vest and swap the black shirt for a white one but that should be fine on paper
sunday best usually meant your best (most formal) clothes; i always heard it used in the context of what you would wear for church
+1 to what beans said about the white shirt and no vest
i assumed i should wear black because its nighttime?
i think no vest might be the way tho
Black shirts are too easy to be “waiter-core”. Unless you’re with the catering company or in the band I’d skip a black collared shirt
I think you will be totally fine if you wear your suit with a light shirt.
I agree you don't need the vest if you don't want to wear it.
In general, I would interpret "Sunday Best" as "jacket and tie". Doesn't necessarily have to be a suit, but no jeans, sneakers, tee shirts, etc.
