Using a custom font results in a large blank space beneath placeholders

I'm using Nuxt UI with a custom local font, on input placeholders the text is misaligned with the custom font, in the attached images you can see the difference in the cursor and the placeholder, it makes a big blank space below the text. I'm using nuxt/fonts and the font is ChesnaGrotesk and the thing is that user input text is perfectly aligned. And I promise it's not my OCD lmfao, it really results in a very visible misalign in the input.
