Try the fabric installer instead and put the mods in your mods folder
Where do I find the fabric installer?
fabricmc.net
I did that and it downloaded and showed just like the tutorials, but when I went to launch minecraft I got this
Never mind just clicked it again and it worked for some reason
But now I don't get the video settings pop up thing it's just the regular one
@Slooshie Do you know how to fix this?
Did you put Sodium and Iris in your mods folder?
Modrinth
Sodium - Minecraft Mod
A modern rendering engine for Minecraft which greatly improves performance
Modrinth
Iris Shaders - Minecraft Mod
A modern shaders mod for Minecraft intended to be compatible with existing OptiFine shader packs
How do I do that?
You download them and put them in the mods folder :linus:
You do know how to cut and paste/drag and drop files in file explorer right?
Yeah
Like just in the shader pack folder?
Yes
I did that and I'm still not getting the video settings pop up
Can you send your latest.log
logs folder
Put the wrong file in there when I checked back lol but I got it now, thank you so much for the help!
What Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) you installed on your computer?
The installer shows that error if you have an outdated JRE/JDK installation. This is a similar case to another person that suffered the same issue.
JRE 8u401 or JDK 21.0.2 you need.
That JRE number seems like Java 8.
No idea what I had, but I used the fabric installer instead and it worked
