I have a feature request. Can SignalK be installed so that when web UI is accessed via localhost from localhost it would automatically login user as admin. I see lots of users not able to set up admin account. They do not realize that first login creates it. They forget password because it doesn’t prompt you to retype it. Some use ‘sign up’ link. And after signing up try use it to login into their SignalK server and they can’t.

Just having the Remember Me switch actually remember for more than a day would be a great start.
But then when remember me is expired and you are underway and forgot the password or have to type it in on touchscreen in rocking cockpit then it’s not nice
if you're not actually using accounts, just disable security
That is more risk because it allows outside access
only if you expose the server to the internet, if it's just on your local network it's not an issue
@Roger fyi the default RememberMe timeout is now NEVER
we could also improve the creation of the admin credentials, to make things more obvious
but that is different from your bypass authentication when accessing from the same server
that does have its merits
