Installing Mods with Iris+Fabric
Having a hard time installing mods through the Iris+Fabric loader, I tried sticking a .jar mod file into the mods folder, but it didn't do anything.
(new to mods sorry)

you need to run fabric with sodium and iris in the mods folder
you can just run the iris installer with fabric install selected

I have 2 installs showing up now, one iris+fab and one just fabric
ignore the iris profile
that's if you only want to run shaders without mods
sodium and iris are fabric mods, so you use them the same as any other mod
and... incompatible mods found... great...
I'm guessing I don't really want to remove iris?
if you want shaders, no, you don't
you can't use immersive portals with the beta. Immersive portals would have to update to be compatible with 1.7
ah, okay, so reinstall without the beta?
yes. If you play with DH it will look pretty bad (LODs won't have shading)
I think I can have 2 seperate installations right? one with DH and one without?
without a third-party launcher, not really without a lot of work

would be nice if I didn't have to reinstall different mods everytime I want to switch between setups...
seems to me like... if I can get the fabric loader to have normal iris... and then the iris only install have DH...
I mean, that's the whole point of most third-party launchers, since the vanilla one kinda sucks
Prism Launcher is the best
you can have multiple instances each with their own set of resource packs, mods, worlds, settings, etc.
is it possible to reinstall iris+fabric without DH... without affecting the existing Iris only Installation?
with the vanilla launcher and methods of installing iris you can have two sets of mods: one in the iris-reserved folder that is used by the iris profile, and the mods folder, which is used by fabric

the fab does have DH in it, which I will attempt to remedy
if you really want to switch between two sets of mods I would just get Prism Launcher. Makes exactly what you're trying to do much easier

okay, I have a DH install and... lets see if the normall install with fabric mods also works...
hm... well, DH is gone, and shaders are up... but... my nether portal looks the same... hm...
