I get like 10 fps or less while using shaders on low quality
I have a 16gb 4060 ti and a 7800x3d, my pc is fairly new but for some reason I literally cannot play minecraft with shaders. I’ve done everything common to fix it but no matter what I do I still have issues, im just using iris and sodium and all those popular performance mods and nothing else. I’ve allocated 8 gb to minecraft

send a screenshot of your F3 menu
What shaders are you using?
I suspect that you plugged your monitor into your motherboard. This will cause games to use your integrated graphics (your 7800x3d) instead of your 4060 Ti. Make sure your monitor is plugged into your graphics card instead
if it is already plugged into your GPU you can look up how to make Minecraft use your GPU on YouTube
oops sorry I was at work but my monitor is plugged into my gpu, and I’ve already made minecraft use my gpu through the control panel
can you send F3?
Yes give me one min
do you have v-sync on?
or any fps cap?
it says 77 fps but the second i move around it goes to 10 or lower
i dont have vsync on and the fps is on unlimited
can you check gpu usage in task manager
it says its using around 65%
what shaders are these?
I’m using the BSL shaders
are you using any optimization mods?
I’m using sodium and all those mods
which mods?
sodium, ModernFix, Lithium, Iridium, FerriteCore, EntityCulling, CIT Resewn, AttributeFix are the ones I have
but without any mods I still get the same result
I would try lowering your memory allocation to just 6 gb
12 will cause a decent amount of lag due to the Java garbage collector
I’ve done 6 7 8 every number at this point but I still get the same result
hmm
What is your rd set to?
in dh and normal settings
and try getting c2me and noisium
It’s set to 6
dh rd?
Is that distant horizons ? I don’t think I have that
they aren't using distant horizons
ah
this is really weird
Try using fabulously optimized, but add noisium and c2me
That would get you the absolute best performance
any improvements in fullscreen mode?
Alright thank you
And when it’s full screen I lag worse
wow
any resource packs or anything?
which shader is it again?
I am using a 1024x texture by hodilton but when I don’t have shaders on I have no lag at all so I figured it was the shaders fault
that's why your lagging mate
I’m using BSL because it’s the only shader I can run right now but I was hoping to run SEUS PTGI HRR 3
1024x textures
lmao
well when I don’t have shaders on my game runs super well with the resource pack
shaders with 1024x will lag on most systems
that'
s
normal
And with it disabled, I still lag with shaders
you do?
yes
use no resource pack and just bsl
the lag only happens when I apply shaders
fly around and get avg fps
any bsl settings changed?
alright
just color ones to make the sky prettier
alr
then try this after
with 8gb ram allocated
Uhh okay so turning off the resource pack did help a bit but my avg while flying around is 36 with it freezing occasionally
wow
so do I need to just not use a resource pack
Do you have tons of apps open on your pc?
No i have everything closed
def not a 1024x one
laptop or desktop?
desktop
any temp monitoring programs?
could be temp throttling
I figured it was just the shaders fault, because if I put on a 32x it still lags the same
I’m not sure what that means
I don’t think I have any lol
download rtss and hwinfo64, so you can view your temperatures while in-game
alright
what cooler does your cpu have?
its very powerful
it needs something powerful for cooling
I’m not sure I don’t know half the things in there uhh
did you build your pc?
Not by myself but I picked the parts for it
I probably just choose the cheapest option honestly
look at the pc irl
what is on the cpu area?
a fan?
waterblock?
did the person who built it have a good understanding on parts?
Is that the cpu area idk
so it's a waterblock
maybe not a powerful enough one
can you get rtss and hwinfo64?
you can monitor cpu temp
yes I’m doing that rn
so try that for sure
sounds good
hwinfo64 will look a little intimidating, but I'll help you set it up
Yeah I’ve got no idea what any of this means
re open it and choose only sensors
it will look like this
yep
right click any of the things
and click osd settings
Okay
"OSD (RTSS) Settings"
What do I do after
scroll down until you see your cpu name
amd r7 7800x3d
Like that ?
yep
now click cpu die average
and select show in osd
and same for core temperatures
when you're done, open rtss
like that
as long as you select show in osd for both
Okay the rtss thing is installing
you did this right?
where my cursor is
the blue
Yes I did
alr
what launcher do you use
like for minecraft ? I just use the normal one idk what the others are
alr
there are many other
at, prism, multi mc, modrinth, curseforge just to name a few
most people don't use normal launcher
do I need to use a diff one then
*most modders
nope
ur good
alright
now the rtss thing it took me to notepad was that supposed to happen
uh
no
lemme see
what happened
we're checking temps
ok
oh wait now it took me to Microsoft edge
show me
I'm confused
just install it and open
in toolbar
it went to this
thats a read me
open your toolbar with up carrot
^
and double click rtss
caret*
it came up with a purple screen
you should see something like this
uhh
just dm me and share screen lol
Okay😭
I feel something else is wrong
you think?
its a 7800x3d
those run extremely hot
I will look into this case in one hour. Putting this message as self reminder.
something with the hardware
and the waterblock on there looked pretty eh
like I didn't recognize the company
When i open it it just shows this
can you send all the task manager usages while running minecraft with the shaders?
Pretty much issue resolved
temps were fine
and fps was around 110 with bsl
flying in creative
the issue was using sues shaders with a 1024x pack
which was detrimental to performance
I also noticed that you're running a 1440p monitor, which will have some performance hit compared to running the game at 1080p.
Another thing of note is you have 32 changed shaders settings. Likely many of them have caused a significant performance penalty for being stacked on top of each other. Try reducing the settings a bit.
for sure
they told me the only settings they changed were with sky colors
They're using a 1024x pack?
:linus:
they were in the og imahe
image
this one
That poor 4060 starving for VRAM.
haha
but yeah mainly high res plus shaders
your not gonna have the best performance
Everything is solved then?
I would say so
:haha_yes:
:haha_yes:
