Strange chunks
I'm not sure if this has been address already or not, but these are already visited chunks as I depart them, these towers follow me around as I move forward, relative to the render distance. What am I missing?

Known issue, delete old LODs and update to the nightly build in #links-n-downloads
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
I put it in and now it's not working at all
Did you delete the old DH file and did you delete the old LODS?
yes
wait, I deleted the sqlite file
I'm confused on what else I'm supposed to delete
You replaced the old DH mod file with the new one which is version 2.0.2 right?
Oh and you have to delete the config file when updating to 2.0.2, forgot to mention that
my game version is 20.1
is the github version different from the forge version?
Your game version is fine, you need to update DH
https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/882038774861819954
no, is this the same as the one I can get on forge?
this one isn't working
Forge is a modloader, you cant download mods on it
Do you mean curseforge?
If so, then no, curseforge only has the releases
What about it is not working
oh, yes
I can't find any trace of it in game
I show version 2.0.1-a
download the mod through here https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/882038774861819954/1014726512420868096
I did, I just don't know what to do with it. I put it in my mods folder and it didn't appear ingame
I am completely illiterate with this stuff outside of curseforge
Did you delete the old DH mod file?
I disabled it in curseforge
and did you delete the files at these locations:
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
also did you delete the config file at this location:
.minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
/configTo edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
done
everything now?
winRAR file downloaded to the mods folder, now what?
so you just downloaded the mod here https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/882038774861819954/1014726512420868096 and put it in your mods folder?
yes
ok, then delete the other files that have distant horizon in their name inside the mods folder
but not the one you just put in
done
ok good
then delete each of these 3 following files, their located here:
the one I just downloaded is called nightly build something or other
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
yea thats good
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
not found
replace WORLD_NAME with the name of your world
C:\Users\firem\curseforge\minecraft\Instances\workbench2
beyond that is the mods folder containing the file I just downloaded
is there any folder named
saves
?empty
hmm, has this world any importance to you, or can it be deleted?
I have no local games on this version, it's only for connecting to my server
kinda, got a lot of mods loaded
Wait, so that world is from a server?
the world I'm using it on, yes
ok, then go to
%appdata%/.minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data
not found
oh wait, youre on curseforge
yep
I thought something didn't seem right
no idea how curseforge exactly works
Can you press
Ctrl
and r
, then enter %appdata%
Then go into the folder .minecraft
ok
is there a folder named
Distant_Horizons_server_data
in there?no
those are completed unrelated if I'm not mistaken
I can't access my server through a vanilla install
iirc curseforge uses only one real minecraft instance, but then injects mods into these or smth like that, so thats why i thought
but i don't use curseforge so i don't know how it exactly works
can you go
C:\Users\firem\curseforge\minecraft\Instances\workbench2
here again
is there a folder named Distant_Horizons_server_data
?there was, i deleted it
oh ok, that should work
it came from installing it through curseforge
Next, is there a
config
folder in there?all the instructions you gave me I followed in this curseforge folder, all files are deleted
oh, good then
now try joining the server and see if it still happens
with the downloaded winRAR file in the mods file, there's no evidence of the mod in game
what do you mean with winrar file
a .rar file?
if you dont know, click this:
under "view"
it's whatever you get from the downloads channel
so a .zip?
what happens when you double click it?
opens winrar
but every other mod in there is a rar file......
when you open the .zip file, does it give some files like forge, fabric, merged and neoforge?
and i ask again, what do you consider a "rar file"? does it have the extention .rar?
it's called a WinRAR ZIP archive
yes, except neoforge
that probably means its a zip file, not a rar file
winrar is just an annoying piece of software
but
what im going at
is that you need to extract the zip file
the mod is contained in it
so open the zip file, go to the merged file, take the .jar file you'll find there, and put it in the mods folder
visible in active mods.....
here be dragons lol
eyyy
here be dragons that work lol
i still recommend doing this btw, makes it much clearer what file is what
same song different tune
what the
are those chunks supposed to be black?
black?
never heard of that before
that's where I just came from, where I spawned
this is where I'm headed
so this is a server right?
yes
really weird, it shouldnt even know what chunks are there
the islands in the void i mean
or did you fly in close proximity to those "islands"?
where you circled is where I started, I filled in everything around me, then took off in a random direction and looked back
can you try turning up cpu load?
i think this means it didnt have time to generate all LOD's yet
now I've got fog further away
you can change fog in the DH settings
from 300 blocks up I can see how you do the lofi render, that's pretty smart
is it true that if I go from one area to another, the area I left should stay visible indefinetely?
if it stays inside your DH render distance, yes
so you basically turn the render distance up as opposed to infinite
that's what this LOD setting is, right?
if by "this LOD setting" you mean render distance, yea
