Chunk Loading
Hi. Apologies if this is already a solved issue; having trouble locating a solution in the discord. I'm getting some chunk loading, but it's extremely slow. I'm using 1.20.1 Fabric via CurseForge. I don't have anything besides Sodium/Indium.
Interested to hear any recommended solutions. I've gone through the faq problems and fixes and have tried searching the discord. Thank you.

At what setting is your cpu load?
DH uses regular minecraft worldgen, so it's pretty slow
some general tips are to cap your framerate to free up cpu time for worldgen, increasing the cpu load preset in DH settings, and adding c2me + noisium
(for c2me make note of https://discordapp.com/channels/881614130614767666/1035937813310484540/1201688046110785556 )
Currently at default
Got it, thank you
Is there a post for recommended CPU settings?
No, because it depends what you want

Every system is different, so while we can't say exactly what will work best for you, here area few suggestions:
GPU
- For integrated and low end laptop GPU's
- Start with a DH render distance of about 64
- You may need to drop the vertical and horizontal quality settings
- For mid to low end desktop GPU's
- The default settings should be a good starting point
CPU
- Less than 4 Cores
- Disable the world generator
- Drop the thread config to 1 thread for each option
- DH render distance shouldn't affect CPU load
- 6-8 Cores
- The default settings should be a good starting point
If you need additional help tweaking performance, the FAQ has additional tips and tricks, or you can create a thread in #help-me if you have a specific issue.
we have a command actually
recent ish addition
Oh nice
Great, thank you!
Took a break from minecraft for a couple weeks. It still doesn't load chunks outside of the base minecraft render distance. But it keeps those chunks once they're loaded
I realize it's not that chunk loading is slow. It's actually very fast. It's just not loading additional distant horizon chunks in the first place
Even with nothing besides the Fabric API. No other mods
Did you try a completely clean instance?
Reinstalled curseforge and minecraft
Running with a NVIDIA 3080
increase CPU load
dh config > advanced > debug > wireframe > enable the first 2 options
this will show the visualization of world gen tasks for LoD gen
I have an 8 core so I'll set for paid for the whole CPU setting
aggressive's enough
last one was a meme

yeah
Getting some slow loading (of course still need to add the chunk loading mods)
2.0.1's pretty weird one
i'd suggest try the build in the link above
Which tab under build?

Is there a distinct version number? Only seeing 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.4
those are MC versions
Right, where's the version number located?

Okay, sorry, think I misunderstood. So all of these are the 2.0.3 versions
yes
Thank you for your assistance. It's much appreciated
Definitely getting it somewhat working now! Will troubleshoot more later
@xirailuyo Do you still need support or can I close this issue?
I'll check tonight
It's coming in more uniform now, but the chunk loading is quite a bit slower than it was before. I've been in game for about 5 minutes and still don't have the chunks loaded with CPU on aggressive
Sometimes quite a bit of time will pass without any chunks loading at all
I'm also a bit surprised I'm getting stutters on balanced CPU given I have decent hardware
But things are looking much better. Biggest problems are slow chunk loading and CPU optimization
Investigating if RAM may be bottleneck
Nope, probably also the reason for the slow chunk loading. Not sure what the issue is.
