256 chunks distance? Based on some quick maths, I'd estimate that as around 8-9GB.
(256*2)^2 actual chunks, which would take a while to generate too.
For comparison, I pre-generated 312 chunks (~5000 blocks) with Chunky, and it took around 3 hours with a resulting file of around 11GB.
I think chunky generates in a circle while DH generates in a square so a 312 chunk render distance with DH might be a little more than that
i am still rendering and the file have got already 6.5GB
depends on a shape he choosed for chunky
maybe he didn't pick square
I can’t remember how chunky works bc I’ve only used it once but it generated in a circle for me which would mean the LODs would also generate in a circle
close to 256?
But if instead of using chunky you enabled distant generation in the DH settings it would generate the LODs in a square
dw about fps, i just capped them
What version of DH are you using
idk i tried using first chunky then turning on the dh but it doesnt work
2.0.2-a dev build
Alr
is that close
There’s those weird lines where the LODs didn’t generate
I can’t really tell
it's a bug
simply
Ik
will get fixed
From what I’ve heard it happens more with 2.0.1
If you want to test if that’s 256 chunks try teleporting 4096 blocks away from the center of all that
