BazziteOS with only the desktop
I have high hopes for BazziteOS but I don't want to use the Gamescope-session (Steam Deck mode). What can I do on Bazzite to remove it?

only -deck images of bazzite have game mode
but what about deck specific drivers?

what about that usermode driver that starts in d mode that activates full gamepad functionally?
there is no lizard mode driver for steam deck, it works on stock linux kernel

but what about the keyboard ui? is that available on bazzite and bazzite-gnome?

Big Picture Mode uses the same interface as Game Mode and I can have it autostart to big picture mode. Does steam start automatically on bazzite:

it is configured to skip login entirely, and uses valve's session design
you would have to rip all that out
steam bpm is unusable in linux rn
the overlay is broken
it only opens once or twice then breaks
theres also other quirkiness
i tried to rock it and tbh you get respectable performance under wayland
couple months back gamescope was close to unusable
but after standardizing the patch series for the kernel + gamescope + mesa
its basically rock solid now

steam bpm yeah nope. It "is full featured" except mangohud if you run it with the deck params though
