Avalonia PDF editor app
Hello,
I am looking for guidance on how I would write a PDF editing app, similar to Adobe Acrobat in C# with Avalonia. What PDF library should I pick that is able to edit & add new text & images to a PDF and do that within a GUI? Would I have to write my own library? How do the bigger apps do it, I couldn't find anything regarding that.
Any help is appreciated!

Considering PDF is basically a closed format, and it's supposed to be non-editable... good luck
yeah wouldn’t recommend
ugh do you guys have any other ideas then for what i could write that maybe down the line could be monetized into smth like a saas?
Idk, an epub editor?
It's at least an open format
Doesnt sound like theres much demand for that, doesnt have to be an editor specifically. Do you maybe have any other problems in mind you could solve with saas?
well do some research, see what is in need in your country, what is widely used, what they lack, etc...
i already tried doing research bleh i wouldnt be asking if i found anything, i dont know what to focus on
Work on something you find interesting instead of focusing on finding an idea that you can profit off of later.
well the things that works for 1 person does not mean it will work for u, doing research is not just to find something its also to verify the market and things that work in your country
if the answer was simple and everyone could execute it, then everyone would be billionarie now ;P
Sadly you are right
I built projects i was interested in before but they were only for me, now i wanted to see if i could build some sort of sode hustle that actually provided value to people
yeah find that X thing is the non trivial part that happens after many trial and error, some people have a gift for it some have to struggle to find it
there are certain things that never fail
but they are long term rewards
Its the hardest part for me
As in?
like for example a lot of doctors office do not have their documents digitilized its all on paper
a lot of doctors dont even have an app to write the recipes for them they write by hand
Eh here in germany sadly something like this wouldnt work, they want it all done by the state
these are things u can do that u can easily sell if done right but wont generate a massive revenue
because its a lot of grunt work
But i see your point
yeah that why I said u need to research to find that thing
Hmm ill have to ask around then and find people and their painpoints
because its different from country to country
You have done it already?
Yes I did at one point when I was starting
I targeted advocacy firms and doctors
to see what they were using as technology what they were lacking or feeling missing
but this involves not only knowing how to program
but having contacts, knowing how to sell
Theres so much to target how do i choose a niche
But glad to hear you found something
find the niche is hard, specially one with high reward
I dont have a formula for that unhappily
I simple target places I thou I could make money off of
the alternative is job hunting
living on contract basis can be harsh
I dont want to do that anymore
what job hunting?
I want to find some problem i can solve that can be automated and sold recurringly, a saas
Yeah being a freelancer basically
job hunting I meant find a proper stable job
that is the alternative
Ohh well im still a student lol
Im just looking for something profitable on the side
what ur doing can be an arduous path because subscriptions comes and goes
ah fair
Well it depends on the product
why no upwork stuff then
I tried fiverr out and didnt really get any contracts
Seems like its dominated by low price 3rd world people
fivver is not the same thing
but yeah getting client etc is not trivial
Oh i didnt try upwork, how does it differ
well register an account and give it a try
and come back
I actually enjoy the entrepreneurial way of doing your own marketing and finding clients but i want to find amd create my own product
Its just freelancing basically right
yeah but u have more freedom at the same time
I just feel kind of lost because it feels like theres so much to do for a saas but i cant decide and when i do find some idea its already made and i couldnt think of anything to make it better to give me an advantage
Hm i see
Im working on a startup rn but its longterm
I want to find something thats shortterm
that's why I suggested upwork
there are so many quick jobs like scrapping, fix X
Fix Y that are things u can do in a day or 2
I will try it out then, thanks
Nice talking to you
