LODs should generate in the distance but may take a while. Increasing cpu load will speed it up but will affect performance while it is generating. They won’t generate if you are on a server or if you have distant generation disabled.

Depends on your system and how far your render distance is
i have 4070 ti
but only i5 somthing cpu
cuase i used to have an old shiity gpu
If you do something very high like 1024 to cover a large radius it could take you up a very long time
Unfortunately only the CPU can be used to generate the LODs.

Just sit in one spot for a bit to make sure it’s actually generating
Another way to check is looking at task manager
and if its not?
If you set the cpu load to aggressive or the “I paid for the whole cpu” then the cpu usage should be very high
If it’s not generating then I’m not sure. There are some other people that have had the same issue but I didn’t look at what caused it. Search the help me channel for those threads
i dont think i ever got DH to work on my pc
i did a fresh install a few weeks ago cause i finnaly got mor storage but it didnt change nothing for Dh

When you open the distant horizons settings it should be one of the buttons

You can speed up generation with mods like noisium and c2me although c2me requires some setup to be compatible with distant horizons
im using fabolisy optmized modpack
Not sure if that contains noisium and c2me. If it doesn’t I’d download them.
pretty dissapoting that you need to install all these mods for a game to have good preformance

i downloaded a DH modpack and its working
so im just curious of what could have caused it

OK that's what I tried but the default menu layout, hotkeys, and sound settings are HORRID
I was able to fix that tho
my only problem now is that it just takes a long time to load chunks
