Shader question/possible broken generation
okay so a goofy question, but using optifine, is there like, a list of shaders that actually work? i keep seeing videos on yt with shaders and this mod, but when i tried with complementary shaders and another shaderpack, it just used the regular client render distance
another thing thats happening is that distant horizons only seems to work with chunks that i already explored, and does not load in any other chunks outisde my regular minecraft render distance. the only mods i have installed are optifine and DH 2.0

yeah you do need iris, not optifine. Optifine has no way to getting shaders to work on LODs, and iris has a dedicated system for it

on servers it will do that

in singleplayer it should load everything

optifine does change up some chunk loading stuff
try increasing the cpu load level and wait

if you want to generate lod chunks faster, yeah
depends on your cpu really, some will struggle with higher
just chill somewhere and let it generate for a while
its not a fast proccess
does that affect if the games more or less laggy? its kinda laggy as it stands and i have a (bear with me) ryzen 3600, 32gb of ram, and a 6800

if the modlist isn't too big, it could actually be that all the mods have fabric releases, a large amount do these days
