Moving from Cloud to self-host

Hi! We are considering Novu as an option for our messaging needs, we want to start by using the cloud service to kickoff and then move on to the self host option later on. Is there a way to move the configuration from Cloud to Self-host (workflows, subscribers, tenants and so on) or would it need to be reconfigured after the self host option has been set-up?

Answer Currently, there isn't an automatic tool to directly migrate configurations from the Cloud to Self-host option in Novu. However, since every endpoint is accessible with the API key generated in the cloud version, creating a migration script should be feasible (1) . This means you might need to manually create a script for moving configurations such as workflows, subscribers, tenants, etc., using the API endpoints provided by Novu. For more detailed guidance on API usage, you can refer to the Novu API documentation.

Is there any rate-limit that we should be aware of when using the API endpoints @Ask Inkeep ?

Answer Yes, there is information about rate limiting in the Novu documentation, but it's important to note that the rate limiting feature is still in beta and is not activated for Novu Cloud. Self-hosting users can enable it through the IS_REQUEST_RATE_LIMITING_ENABLED flag. However, the specifics regarding limits per endpoint or general rate limit values aren't provided in the documentation. (1) Please consult the Novu documentation for any updates or further details on this feature as it evolves.
