What version of DH are you using?
DistantHorizons-2.0.1-a-1.20.1
name of mod
Do you have any other mods? You could also try the nightly version, it may be fixed there already
yes i have other mods
what mods?
these
have you read the FAQ about c2me?
oh...
Thanks it worked, but the chunks cant get really high, probally because of ram...
if by high you mean far, maybe. how much ram have you allocated?
i've allocated 12 GB ig and i have 16 total in my computer, but it's going 95% ram usage
And yes by high i mean far
if you do not notice fps drops, even with such high ram usage, it is probably not the reason distant chunks are not loading
have you let it generate for some time?
i waited like 5 minutes but it's still stuck at the same place, and yeah...
it really slowly generate chunks in the place i am just standing
and yes i don't notice fps drops
what cpu do you have?
intel core 11th gen 11400F
2.6ghz
going up to about 4ghz
its certaintly not the fastest cpu, but it should generate chunks at a decent rate. do you know if you are trottling?
also, ghz doesnt really matter
ik
thermal trolling i mean
what's that.
ik i am a bit stupid
cpu and ram is doing like that
sometimes i feel really slight fps drops i just realised
but it's slight
now cpu is 100%
if you dont know how to check for thermal trottling, im not gotta bother you with it. there is not much you can do to improve generation speed
the temperature of cpu is maximum at 85 about
it cannot go higher
cpu usage in task manager is not that accurate, it doesnt tell much as it lists the usage of the cpu, but doesnt factor in the ghz. so a cpu might be at 80% load, but only oparate at 2 ghz when it can reach 4
do you mean that is the max rated temp according to the specs?
or did you measure that temperature
always when i check it when i play some games it says 85C
how do you check it?
because that sounds really bad
what?
apparently the 11400f had a max temp of 100 C so youre fine
well if the cpu temperature was always 85C, no matter the game, it would mean the cpu is slowing down to not go over the 85C threshold.
yep
now actually i cant get back to minecraft
what do you mean
when i click the icon it doesn't open
what icon
the minecraft icon?
yes
in that case it probably crashed
ima close it up by task menager
or is thinking VERY hard
well yes, task menager is saying it's going 100% all the time rn
oof
oh my gosh
ram went from 10GB to almost 12GB usage
closed it up
ima restart it
it will use the ram you give it
ik
should i allocate more memory if it already goes about 95% with 12GB allocated memory?
no, 8 is ideal for dh, and maybe a bit more for the other mods lands you at 10 to 12
oh and i am checking temperatures by HWinfo64
oh
interesting
thats good, but it is weird that it is so often at 85, is this a prebuild? maybe the pre build maker set the max temp at 85 C
it says, maximum temp the cpu had was 91C
okay so not stuck at 85 C, thats good then
I restarted the game and rejoined the world
and it doesnt generate more chunks
the cpu went off
and it doesn't seem to be full 64 chunks
what do you mean the cpu went off?
or wasnt that serious
i just mean by it that it's now about 30% usage
what is your cpu load?
the ram is going 8gb usage
in dh settings
agressiveeeeeee
shouldn't that generate more chunks?
i still think its weird the chunks are loading so slow, but there is not much i can think of that will fix it
depends how long you waited
let me check debug
seems it's doing something?
but very lazy
jep, i guess youre just gotta wait
oh ok
Thanks for info and help btw
gl playing far cry 6 i guess.
haha thanks
one more question tbh, should water look like this?
nope, it is a bug fixed in the latest nightly build
Oh ok
(you also need to regenerate the chunks to fix them)
ok
