[NOT IMPORTANT] Just a question if anyone has time!
I'm currently working on a cinematic video and I'm trying to improve settings in bliss! I'm replicating this video: https://youtu.be/UtTOK15RBrk as a baseline to get myself started on my own work! But I can't seem to replicate it very well... the most noticeable difference is the sunbeams and I'm not very fluent with shaders in any aspect if anyone has extra time could they help me out? Here is a reference to my game settings at the moment, the difference is night and day...

Cranked up fog density I bet. Should be in the fog settings.
anymore than this and the background becomes impossible to see
closer but it still seems like the sunbeams are alot more defined in the original;
i tried messing with the angle of the sun and direct light settings but none seem to affect sunbeams xD
Have you tried checking the daytime fog setting? It's a bit further in.
are you talking about time of day fog? heres default settings
fog density on top left is what ive been changing
but I'm starting to doubt if fog density is the thing he changed because of the detail of the background, when i have higher density it is extremely hard to see any higher than default but in his it seems pretty visible even though the sunbeams look like they are going through high density fog...
Since I'm out working, I can't check my settings. Just adjust a few settings until you find one that helps I guessed.
gotcha thanks for the help
Wow that's actually a really beautiful shot
right???
still messing with it all, messaged the creator himself for tips but he hasn't responded yet sadge
ive been surfing through like 50+ landscape maps finding the best ones but the shaders is the only thing im struggling with atm
DH + Iris adds so many cinematic options to minecraft that were just so difficult to do before so I really want to help bring out this new era of mc content.
I would say post process while editing
SADGE
im bad at that but its time to try
One thing I've noticed is that sunbeams can take a couple minutes to actually trace in, sometimes I start Complimentary and get no rays at all and they only come in after a good 5 minutes
same with Bliss sometimes, Kappa, etc.
what ressource pack is this ? patrix ?
Yessire
Yeah good luck actually getting FPS at all, it's the most resource intensive pack on the market
thanks
This should not be the case :p
im aware
happens a lot for me, I couldn't get Bliss to trace rays at all today
You probably activated the shaders at noon where the light shafts are not noticeable then noticed them at sunrise/sunset or went into an area that activated scene aware light shafts
set the time to day, still nothing
its actually the 32x version and barely changes the fps at all
if i was doing the 256x yeah sure
Oooh I see
question, can you show ur resource pack list?
um its literally just patrix lol
what resolution
hmm
can u show me some foliage
i wanna compare it
is the rest of this thread hidden to you?
oops
sorry
i found it
alright thanks
one last question
if its bliss
how do i remove the pom
because it makes my game crash
With editing I managed to get it to look like this
not bad
looks good
I think you need to look for godrays or sun shafts on atmosphere or sky(?) Settings
yeah I should look into those too, sometimes the rays just don't come up
its determined by the angle of the sun and time of day.
there were no godray or sunshaft options in settings sadge
yeah, I've had no rays even when I set the time of day to "day"
try changing the angle of the sun to somewhere thats not covered by anything
Also change Fov and the position you are standing in generally, might help to perfect, idk
Sometimes it just takes a bit for them to load, same thing happened with Complementary and Kappa for me for some reason
Also I play alot of piano too i like your stuff your great at it.
Thanks XD
but why does it look like your recording on a ipod nano 2006
and sound like its played on the top of line audio recorder
LOL
XD
internet constraints and me just not carrying enough
ah okie
the audio is all I focus on
Ya thinkin of tryin to go full time on yt?
if I make enough money from it then maybe
I think theres alot of ways you could go with it
yeah maybe
Imma sub, one sec
Ya missed the era of piano tutorials but theres always an audience for more relatable impressionism content like Marcus Veltri does or funny content like Daniel Thrasher shorts
Those two are like the only two popular piano creators.
Sheet Music Boss: Am I a joke to you?
tbh why just not ask him?
Time to play with tone mapping and color grading.
Unrelated to your issue but @DandelgS what kind of replay mod or something are u using?
it might be in this thread but yeah i'd already tried.
not using replay mod since its not supported ;-;
im just using cinematic camera while flying around.
theres not really any other way to do it
that i know of
how are you doing that?
like just casually flying in creative?
spectator mode but yeah
just trying to move as precisely as possible
my first low effort vid popped off so i really want this second one to be special
well not really low effort its just low skill lol
may i see it? i am looking for some inspo right now as well
i guess i will try that too, i wanted to use the replay mod so much but looks like i'll need to do it differnetly
its uh
not very great but here

Minecraft is Evolving (Distant Horizons 2.0)
First Person Tour of an Island created with Tectonic.
I focused on the caves because of how amazing the generation was but I love how well made the shaders are with distant horizons from a distance. This was amazing to make and I'm definitely going to make something 10x better next video because of how much I loved doing this!
If you want to s...
oh damn a long video
i'd reccommend the other guys stuff "Memonic"
yeah its just me flying around a world
following the terrain
since its so nice
I had to load it up on a multiplayer world and generate all the chunks manually to get decent fps for a video
let me give you some advice how to make it more cinematic ( i am gonna use that as well lol )
took about...3 days???
tip, use chunky mod to pregenerate chunks then dh loads them all reaaally quick
I have
basically what you do
you slowly move the camera while moving
but in multiplayer it doesn't load on DH without manually flying over those chunks
and then speed up the footage iuntil it looks like its normal flying
ahh didn't know that didn't try in multiplayer
Yeah ive already got that down so far in my new vid
ohh alr then
adobe premiere has alot of elements that help with that
im trying to replicate the spinning effect Memonic uses in this video

This is Minecraft?! (Distant Horizons 2.0)
A cinematic edit of Minecraft's current capabilities
Maps:
Sayama City, Greenfield, Abandoned City, Spirted Away
Shaders/Mods/Resource Packs:
Distant Horizons + Iris (Beta Builds from Discord), Bliss Shader, Kappa Shader, Patrix resource pack
ive got pretty much everything down from his cinematics except how he makes the sunrays look so good...
ooff yea i saw this video its so good
well maybe he is using different shaders
I have timecontrol mod to allow me to speed up the game without having trees and crops flowing like crazy
and fabric seasons for specific spots
hes using bliss
and kappa
if you download from this link in this discord server you can barely use any shaders but if you are downloading from curseforge you can use most of them (only tho it's realyl difficult to setup and often it doesn't work with some mods)
theres very few shaders that you can use but he listed them in the desc
oh i see now
It's either an edit of it or he did some post-processing
could be both
wait i think i know how to make the sunrays better lemme just find it in the options
or at least try to
today's really not my day
it was working literally couple hours ago
I've edited all the settings and not found anything related to sunbeams
maybe im missing something who knows
alr so gotta fix this issue or smth and then i'll try to help ya
he left me on read 2 days ago LOL
working on something a little less impressive than his vids but still a step up
well still good luck with that
you'll get better eventually
we all do
clickbait title 🤣
of course it does, it just doesn't do it instantly, and if you use terrain generation mods like Tectonic it makes it even slower
No it doesn't
DH terrain generation only works in singleplayer
On servers maybe so, but in singleplayer the mod can pregenerate terrain and it does so fast enough to be visible
I know, but the message you were answering said "in multiplayer", so I just wanted to correct that, because it indeed does not (yet) work in mutliplayer
OOoh my bad
didn't catch that
I mean, it does work in multiplayer but only as you explore which is annoying
yeah it is kind of unfortunate
but there is a thing being worked on that allows you to install DH on the server
so that all the LODs can be generated and sent to clients without needing to visit these areas first
yeah
that also probably means that on big servers you could potentially amas gigabytes of LODs quite quickly 🤣
Yup
WE HAVE CONFIRMATION BOYS
@here
the uh
shadows are really cranked up
:pog:
ngl i kinda gave up on this and started a whole elden ring playthrough on twitch and then i get that message right after stream lol
but now i might continue on it for a side project.
