Wait for IMS to chime in. There have been many reports citing the same issue.
This means your ISP or country is blocking Iris. You’ll have to run the fabric installer instead and put sodium and Iris in your mods folder
Or if you really want to run the Iris installer I heard installing 1.1.1.1 from cloudflare works
the 1.1.1.1 doesn't download in my browser
You don't type
1.1.1.1
in your browser search bar, otherwise your browser assumes you typed in an IP address. Search "Cloudflare 1111" instead.1.1.1.1 is the correct url though
ok it works after putting cloudfare
Noice
Brah what the, It download like 80mb and then this hapenned
Guess it's your network acting up.
Then how do I use iris shaders with my fabic mods, sodium and indium?
You just get it from modrinth and put it in your mods folder
Same as any other fabric mod
The installer is only if you don’t have a fabric installation already
Or if you’re trying to get the DH compatible version get it from #dh-compatibility-faq
ok, does it work for 1.19.2?
:linus:
No.
No, only 1.20.1 and 1.20.4
all my fabric mods are 1.19.2
rip
You’ll have to get the one from modrinth then
get what?
Iris
for 1.19.2?
Modrinth
Iris 1.6.11 for Minecraft 1.19.2 - Iris Shaders
Download Iris Shaders 1.6.11+1.19.2 on Modrinth. Supports 1.19–1.19.2 Fabric & Quilt. Published on Dec 6, 2023. 80463 downloads.
would it work with DH 1.19.2?
No
:<
Eh somewhat, but shaders will look a bit out of place due to lack of native integration.
At best that is.
At worst, well, the game outright crash.
Was DH compatibility introduced that early?
I thought it was after
It's uh, janky in terms of implementation.
Either way, if that version is pre-DH compatibility the DH chunks will just be invisible
If it’s post-DH compatibility the DH chunks will render with vanilla shading
The mods I use
Nvm I don't want Distant horizons. I just want the shaders to work with all these mods
Works great. Thanks
I don't see the default and shadow quality level starting from 0.5 to 2x which I used in optfine
How do I do that in Iris?
Sadly, those are features not ported over to Iris. Few reasons for that, one of them is that for the most part, it breaks shaders re-implementation.
Hence the default and shadow is 1x fixed?
For resolution control, there's a mod named Resolution Control + that provides similar features to the Optifine's implementation.
Ok I'll try that
is this a shader bug or Iris bug? I'm using complementary Unbound r5.1.1
the lower grids glitches
White box at the bottom of the screen?
yes
Try turning off the shaders and see if it still appears.
no
Shaders bug then.
Report it to the developer if you like to see it resolved.
In case this isn't solved yet
I think I found something that "might" fix it
Been trying to install it since yesterday
It said "The installer was unable to fetch bla bla"
So then I tried using pwsh, it fixed, and installed normally
Interesting...
I don't know why, when I launch it, "maybe" it uses wrong java version (?) or something else, maybe devs can get a clue from this
What is pwsh?
its Windows "Powershell (pwsh)"
Could not reproduce the issue of unable to fetch metadata, but still worth a shot to anyone who did.
Here @CiolaSburata hope it helps, because it's still error internet connection for me
Or, a much easier way, Shift + right click in the empty section of the folder, and select the option "Open PowerShell window here". If you have Windows Terminal, that is also an option.
Ah yeah, I forgot about that kekw
It would skip the cd command 🤣
this is true but an easier solution that might work or not is to update the actual java software because it never notifies u for an update and when its outdated it breaks easily
and ive been trying to solve this for horus
hours*
but complementary shaders had the same problem but in a vid it said that you must check if its outdated or not
so whats the final answer to this question?/
I have not personally recreated the issue on my hand as I do not have access to the shaders pack. I have no answer on that.
I get that the file is not found, what could I do?
@hardesterCould you help me please :)?¿
Updating your Java may fix the underlying issue
It fixed it for someone else
