Advice for beginner?
Hello. I am trying to revamp my wardrobe because it has only been athletic clothing.I am mainly looking for essentials I can wear to Highschool: tshirts, hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, some layers like sweaters, button downs, jackets, and jeans, etc. I am almost 6’3”, 280lbs, wear 40 32 pants. I have gone to polo Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. Polo is one of the only places I’ve found that has tall sizes (I’ve been wearing XLT). These places are pretty expensive and I’m looking to buy clothes for less. I prefer buying in person but I know many stores only have taller sizes online. Zara and H&M are near me Uniqlo isn’t. Also curious about better quality side like Hollister, Abercrombie, urban outfitters, etc. I live in North East US. Does anyone have any advice of what I should look for?

If you like Ralph Lauren, there is a lot available second hand. I own a bunch of RL I've bought on eBay. Never bought new or paid full price.
I'm also 6'3" and for a lot of brands you don't need specific tall sizes. For someone of your frame, you'll probably find for many brands that the tops which fit your chest and waist are also the right length.
The /r/tallfashionadvice subreddit has a guide to brands with specific tall sizes, you'll mostly need to order online in those cases. One brand they don't mention that you should know is Nike--tons of tall sizes going down to small tall.
If you're buying on eBay especially, know your measurements and be sure to compare the measurements to a piece you have that fits you well. Filter for "returns accepted". Be prepared for sellers to not measure the sleeves and then give you flack when you ask them.
L.L. Bean also has tall sizes, they make decent XLT basics and there's probably a store near you if you're in the northeast
