GPU Benchmarks/recommendations?
Looking to get a better gpu rn, currently have a 13600k and a 3070. This mod is legitimately one of the tasks that has convinced me to upgrade my gpu. Just wondering if anyone has benchmarks for this mod on 7900xt, 7900xtx, and/or 4080 super cards. Also looking for recommendations if anyone has any based on the cards performance with the mod. I do intend on using it on servers, mainly Wynncraft, if that affects performance significantly.

can you not run distant horizons on a 3070?
it's more of a dh+shaders issue. It runs, I just would like it to run as well as it can
what resolution are you running
1440p uw
what fps do you get with shaders
<50 with 100% gpu usage
you are running 2k ultra wide
trying running 1080p
or lower shader settings
I don't want to lol, thats why I'm upgrading my gpu
try getting a 3070
4070"
(and sell me your 3070)
how much?
jk
lol
well thank you
sell me it in july
alr, just hmu
What’s your budget?
i get solid performance on my 6700xt (mild OC) at 1080p, dont know how it scales to a higher res though.
i could ask to borrow my brothers 4k monitor but im 99% sure itd be a no
could maybe try the amd tesselation thing for 3840x1080 but idk if that would properly reflect performance
my 2080s can do 4k dh +bliss with 50-60 fps. not sure why your gpu is performing so poorly
3070 should be more than enough for almost everything, especially Minecraft
the more the merrier really
get anything that performs better than your current card in benchmarks by however X amount you want
True dat
i have tried a 4k monitor and have come to the conclusion that it barely affects fps
🔨
why hammer
anyway i get 100-120 fps both at 1080p and 4k
and i can get about 60 fps with DH and rethinking voxels at 4k
not tried bliss
if you need a better GPU though then i suggest probably looking toward AMD cards because mc shaders dont really use RT cores, and youre probably better off saving a bit of cash
Insane cpu bottleneck
4k is literally 4x the pixels of 1080p so if you’re getting the same fps then you’re either bottlenecked or doing something wrong
got an i5 10400f, gpu usage did increase but not a whole lot
and im using c2me, lithium, sodium etc
wait
yeah i was doing something wrong
had settings at medium instead of high
gpu usage seems more in line with what i expected now xd
I have a 6800xt with a r5 5600, 32gb ram and i get 40-50fps with a lot of stutters at 2k with bliss shaders on
that normal?
(yes i know my cpu isnt as good as the gpu)
whats your ram allocation
i have a 3090 which is almost equal to 4070s if i'm not mistaken. you can see the average fps in this video https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1222605443394834564. i have the fps capped at 138 for gsync. i am using bliss.
oh forgot to mention. i play at 1440p
honestly, i recommend getting atleast 4070s for this mod. obviously the higher the better. maybe get 4070 ti super
I unfortunately agree, my 3070 just doesn't cut it :(
check your cpu utilization, gpu utilization, and ram usage
Intel made a software called presentmon(?) that allows you to see with absolute certainty if you’re cpu or gpu bottlenecked. You have to learn a bit to understand it but it’s worth it imo.
Also make sure you’ve allocated enough ram and that everything is running at the right speeds
And turn off distant generation or lower cpu impact while playing or else you’ll get a ton of lag
you want minimum 8gb allocated for DH
debatable
256 chunks is fine with 6gb
Am I underusing my gpu? When generating chunks and loading lods, my cpu uses 100% and my gpu uses 10%. I always hear that GPU's are the limiting factor, so I was wondering why only my cpu is actually using most of it's capacity.
CPU: i5-11400F
GPU: GTX 1650
Generating and loading chunks are tasks only the cpu can do, so it makes sense that the cpu is way more utilized when generating and loading chunks
Thank you!
