constant lag spikes and some chunks not loading with DH

i'm not sure if this is my pc's issue (i have an rtx 2060 and an intel i5 11700f with 16gb of ram) or a DH issue, but i tried changing some values in the settings and it occasionally stopped, but then started back up again (if you need more info to find the problem just ask)

so i fixed the lag spikes but some chunks take quite a while to load. i allocated 6gb of ram to minecraft and reduced the cpu usage (it spikes to 100% when it tries to load new chunks) but it only helped a tiny bit

Distant Horizons heavily uses the CPU when generating chunks. You may reduce your CPU load by reducing said setting to low or minimal impact, however, at the same time chunks will take longer to load. For memory usage, a behavior in Distant Horizons causes it to use a lot of memory. It was based on my observation that it poorly utilizes disk usage to store its lod data, forcing it to keep the data in memory. Having higher memory allocated only helps alleviate disk usage pressure, but at the same time puts a lot of data into volatile memory. For gameplay, it is advised to pre-generate all the chunks and lod ahead of time, like leaving Distant Horizons running overnight for your desired lod distance, or use Chunky to generate the chunks, then leave Distant Horizons to generate its lods.
