Chunks aren't generating
Hi ! I wanted to know. I. DH I have set it to generate chunks (distant generation to ON) but in the F3 menu the active level world gen is on Disabled and no chunks are generating even though all the chunks In the LOD render distance are not all rendered (the most part is but there is still a big gab on the edges) Do you know why ? I just want to know how the world gen is working and in what condition it is activating

1) are you sure that distant generation is enabled in DH settings?
2) did you get any message in chat about reneration being disabled because of errors?
1) yes 2) no
Before the generation was working great but I restarted my game in between and now it doesn't work anymore
Even manually generating chunks doesn't generate lods
what mods are you using?
None
I'm on the iris beta thing
so you just have distant horizons and iris or what?
Yes
im having the same issue
barely any LOD's are generating
try removing iris, for iris you need sodium
i have like 32 GB of RAM
and the LOD's are stil so SLOW
It was working but it suddenly stopped I don't think it is related
try upping cpu load
also a GTX 1080 TI and an intel-i7 7700k
With iris
im at the max
the i paid for the entire cpu thing
and its only generating like 12 chunks
did you allocate more ram?
at 8 rn
8 GB
also would be probably better if you made your own thread
I have allocated 30gb
And I have a distance of 315
try allocating less, as far as i know minecraft can have problems with too much ram
It is using all of it lol
I have 315 render distance
With extreme quality
And I still have 15fps
well, try removing iris, lowering ram and lowering quality
my own thread?
like in settings
like in this forum thing
ohhh
got it
Hi. I'm having this problem too. I have only the basics mods that iris share (Iris, sodium, fabric, DH,..) but after a while generating the world I have noticed that it almost stops. It says "world gen disabled" even tough it's enabled and sometimes will generate 1 o 2 chunks every very long time
I have tested this with 5,6,7,8, and 10 GB of RAM. I have also tried using c2m. I have also tried more cpu load and less.
this happens with any render distance. It seems like it can't generate more
Here's a video showing it with a new world https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jz4lmhz7vu0v9JnJ8Fmvd3dDMUgbtw0o/view?usp=drive_link
Google Docs
dh not generating chunks.mp4
Did you managed to solve it?
Here are my logs:
*Note that this also happens if I take out all other non essential mods
Also notice in the video that DH is generating chunks, but only in a rectangle around me with the radious of my render view distance. That means: instead of me just generating a circular area, generating the rest so it makes a square. So... DH is able to generate but only that small area.
If I move it generates and saves the world without problems
I repeat: This stated happening after generating like 200 chunks radious in a world. I tried creating a new world and restarting the pc but it's still happening
nope
still happening
Um..what a shame. Let's try to work together:
Did you happen to have low space in your main drive where MC is installed?(Usually "C:") I had only 20GB and tried freeing some space up to 40GB but still happening.
Space is definetly NOT the issue
I reduced ram to 2.04 and it's going a little better (I reduced it to 4GB with 526 render distance and it's going okay most of the time). But yeah, still shutters if moving too fast sometimes, but much less than before
that is a crazy pc
you are having a different problem if you recieved and error code saying world gen disabled
It is likely because of your mods
/binarysearch
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
i barely get 20 FPS on the newer games that i play
so i wouldnt call it that good
I think it might be a pc problem then so try installing the latest drivers and running software like msiafterburner and gpu z and see what the problem is
all my drivers are updated and running smoothly.
huh then just run msi afterburner and gpu z
if those don't show the problem I do not know what coudl help
your cpu does bottle neck the gtx 1080 ti by 40% so you might not be able to get max performance without upgrading your cpu
