You have the Iris installer in your mods folder :kek:
And the forge version of tectonic
how would I fix that
I just reinstalled Minecraft after like 3 years lol
This is my game verison also
Should I switch my game build?
With that launcher profile you can’t play with other mods (well technically you can but it’s not recommended). Run the Iris installer again with fabric install selected
Install fabric first?
When you run the Iris installer there’s an option to install fabric
Do that
1.20.4?
or 1.20.1
Whichever version you want
alright done
Then get the fabric version of tectonic and put that in your mods folder. You currently have forge
You also need to take out DH 2.0.1
There isnt a tectonic compatibility for my version
You may have to get the datapack then https://github.com/Apollounknowndev/tectonic/tree/datapack
GitHub
GitHub - Apollounknowndev/tectonic at datapack
Enhanced terrain generation with mountain ranges, underground rivers, and more - GitHub - Apollounknowndev/tectonic at datapack
alright
then?
I deleted the mod in the mods folder also
Then you should be good to launch the game and play. If you run into stuttering and performance issues try increasing the ram allocation (installations -> edit -> JVM arguments -> change the “2G” in the text box to something higher, like 6G. DO NOT SET IT TOO HIGH OR YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPOSITE EFFECT OF WHAT YOU WANT)
Why are you playing on 1.20.2
what should I be on?
1.20.1 or 1.20.4
I have to go to work
@Slooshie Im getting low fps and this issue
I'm sorry but you consider 70 fps on a 4060 to be low?
well
is that good for minecraft?
and does the issue happen without shaders? If not report it in https://discord.com/channels/774352792659820594/1204164311287734314
fps varies widely depending on lots of factors, but 70 is very very good for a 4060
just shaders
these are good specs?
seems a bit laggy
is vsync on?
no
ok
50 fps
98-100% gpu utilisation
you're clearly gpu bound
lower your shader/dh/minecraft settings
also if you have lag spikes on gcc clear, set your ram to something like 4096 min and 6144 max, or 4096/8192, or 6144/8192
don't go higher than 8-10gb tho, java doesnt like that
also try mods from "simply optimized modpack" (excluiding C2ME tho, doesnt work with dh normally)
even with a 4060 and bliss shaders?
also for comparison
4060 is =~ 3060
and 3060 is =~ 1080 ti
you're also have a lot of chunks
..and also 2k widescreen
i dont understand why i keep getting frame drops so if u can help me thatd be dope
i got rtx 4070 TI Super
Intel Core i9 14900K
and i have crazy frame drops
4gb is not enough for that amount of chunks dude
set 4096/8192 or 6144/8192
also gpu underloaded (probably because of that so cpu can't really load anything if it constantly clearing garbage)
and also
you can just take the mods in iris folder and delete all your main mods and replace em with those (in main mod folder
so basically my gpu is a piece of shit
how do i do that
No, a 4060 is very good (even if the value of the entire 4000 series sucks). They just said it is roughly equal to a 3060 or 1080ti, both very good mid-tier cards
Distant Horizons introduce a lot more vertices for your GPU to render. You are pushing your GPU way harder than without Distant Horizons. With your current setup and mods, average of 70 fps is very much well within your GPU capabilities.
no its still good mid-tier card, just lower your settings
(and maybe expectations a little bit, too :) )
Upgrading from last gen mid to high-end cards, yes it's a piece of crap. But, upgrading from, say, GT 710, GT 1030, GTX 1060 3 GB, RX 290, 290X, 390, or even RX 480, it is a sizeable upgrade.
And upgrading from nothing is just a no-brainer.
Hey! I got a question, not really important... Is this performance OK for a R5 3600 and a RX6700XT?
DH is set on 128, aggressive use and medium quality.
Minecraft on fancy and 32 chunks.
I know these mods are heavy for both hardware parts, but i expected for more FPS, so maybe the problem is my PC.
(The 54FPS screenshot was a spike, the average is between 25 and 35)
lower your mc chunks and maybe set quality a little bit lower
why use 32 chunks :tiny_potato:
32 chunks is way too much. I personally believe 16 is hard maximum before Distant Horizons completely stalls generating its own chunks from waiting the vanilla chunks to generate and render first.
also your gpu is not loaded fully
only 40-60%
because you're using aggressive mode and 32 chunks men
use 12-16 chunks and medium mode, maybe lower quality as i said
what versions of minecraft is stable for distant horizon??
Interesting question. Most people usually ask which version of the mod that works with their Minecraft version, not the other way around.
In any case, versions of Distant Horizons with Iris native integration is only available for Minecraft version 1.20.1 and 1.20.4.
