Uncertain performance issues on low-end setup
I'm experiencing low FPS/frequent stutters while playing with DH and bliss shaders and I'm not sure whether the cause of this issue lies in the mods and settings I play on or just my hardware
The specs:
i5 4590
GTX 960 2gb
4x4 16gb DDR3 RAM (8gb allocated to Minecraft)
The majority of the mods I play with come from the Better Adventures+ modpack with few additional mods I've added which shouldn't be relevant (light extra game content, HUD changes etc)
The modpack: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/better-adventures-plus/relations/dependencies?page=1
When it comes to the settings I've been playing on the default main bliss chocapic13 preset shaders and for DH I've tried both default and custom lower settings (minimum quality, CPU usage) with the latter even causing the ground trailing in sky bug for some reason.

prob just ur hardware being inadequate
The game runs pretty well without DH though
What I'd like to know is whether the mod is actually just that demanding as of now or if I could improve the performance by setting it up differently
I've seen people pull this off with some similiar specs which is why I'm in doubt
dh shouldnt impact perf too much
if mc was playable before it should still be
unless u were just scraping by
Fellow Haswell CPU here. If you travel a lot, stutters are imminent. Definitely inadequate hardware.
I see. Do you think I should try chunky to maybe make this playable?
Chunky helps pre-generate chunks, which should help offloading chunk generation task from DH, leaving it to do lod generation.
Still going to take a while to generate lods so, gonna have to wait a bit on that.
That's what I'm hoping for
I'll try and see if that works later then update on the situation
in addition to chunky, you could let the game run overnight with distant generation enabled
once you're ready to play the next day, disable distant generation
(you could also keep distant generation on but decreasing the cpu load preset to minimum/low impact)
I got this error message in the process
what does that mean?
again
this is chunky's current progress at 2000 radius, didn't get any errors before
