X Endstop Always Triggered

I'm having an issue where my x endstop is always showing as triggered in Klipper. The endstop light turns on when pressed, but seems not to register the input. I'm following this ↓ wiring diagram for the octopus. I've replaced the wire because I thought the the other one was getting hot - and, because I had to flip the wire. With the new wire (pictured) I still can't get it to work, so I can't tell if it's a hardware or software issue. Thanks for any input, I really appreciate it.

Are you able to share your printer.cfg file? Also it seems like either the black cable is not crimped correctly, or the connector isn´t correctly seated in the casing. You should not be able to see bare wire here:

The crimp connection should look like this, where the rear part of the crimp connector is clamping onto the wire insulation. Have a look at this guide for more information: https://www.instructables.com/Make-a-Good-Dupont-Pin-Crimp-EVERY-TIME/
