They are very well established American traditional shirt maker. Pretty good reputation on here especially for their OCBDs, which have a large collar roll. Don't own anything myself but would like to.

Yeah I’m a big fan and a large % of my wardrobe is J Press. Best known for their Shaggy Dog shetlands and stellar, flap pocket OCBDs. Happy to answer any questions you may have in particular.

amazing, thanks! i have a feeling theyre one of those groups that dont have many sales? or do they have sales usually? their fits and style are what i like
AthleisureHandsewn
They do sales throughout the year, some better than others. The recent presidents day sale was 15% off everything. And occasionally they do archive/warehouse sales with very steep discounts on previous seasons

can anyone shed light on why kashiyama (japanese mtm brand that tried to make inroads in the us market at an ill-fated time) now redirects to J. Press? I know the ownership group is the same, but has any of the product DNA been absorbed?

Anyone know pricing for their MTM suiting? Or have experience with their MTM in general? Saw they’re running a 20% off sale

Around $1800 before the discount

Has anyone been to new-ish J Press Pennant Label store in NYC? It appears that they offer MTM services there and I was curious whether you all would consider Pennant Label MTM based on the quality of their RTW offerings. Thanks.

Their current mainline OCBDs are very sketch right now. I don't think now is a good time to buy J Press OCBDs in general

Thanks for the heads up, looking for a flap pocket one but want to make sure if I spend $100+ it’s worth it

Its really not, abit unrelated but I made a reddit post a week ago asking about J Press's OCBDs and many other people agree that they're not worth it right now. Look at Kamakura imo for a nicer classic OCBD

Kamakura and Kashiyama also have beef; Kamakura founder/owner looks down on Kashiyama's running of JPress

I mean I don't think he's wrong. I think, though, that they have maintained their original goal of appealing to a certain niche while Brooks Brothers, who was at one point the rival (to a degree) of J. Press, has really fallen far from where they used to be

oh i dont disagree, just thought id bring it up haha they've been struggling for a long time but theres also just more competition now

soft disagree, I find J Press shirts the same as they've always been, as long as you avoid their MTO program, I've had a few misfires from their supplier

I didn't have an issue until their most recent batch. They switched factories and are now at the factory that also produces O'Connell's shirts. Bought a couple of new batch shirts in 15-33 and all of the collars measured 16" which is way too big

Is a medium shaggy dog really only 32” in the sleeves? Im a 34/35 :nooooo:

I think that accounts for the shoulder measurement
