what type of blazer and color should I get after a classic navy blazer?

I currently have a classic 1818 navy Brooks Brothers blazer with gold buttons and am looking to add one if not two more blazers. What are the next best options for colors and fabric for a blazer that I should be looking for. Ideally would try to get used but will buy new also if needed. Thank you

Browns and grays are my favorites (even more so than navy blazers)

imo when you choose your next jacket definitely gather some inspo (wawyt, insta, putthison, dieworkwear, even styleforum, etc etc) and see how people wear the colours you're considering. Pick whichever colour/pattern/fabric you'll have an easier time integrating into your wardrobe/style/lifestyle. I love ivy & the menswear uniform but I knew I wouldn't wear a navy blazer or grey sport coat as much as something earth-toned. My first really intentional sport coat purchase was a greenish gun check because all my inspo was checked tweed sport coats and I already had an okay dark brown checked sport coat I'd thrifted (both pictured)

Excellent. Thank you Thank you. I mostly need them for work. If I can get used, I will get multiple colors.

+1 for gray herringbone tweed.

also consider you're approaching summer so while you may be able to catch a deal on a herringbone tweed, you may also not be wearing it for a while

Consider visiting Australia and wearing it there. 🙂

I'm with Wonky. There are some standard recs but there are so many options it helps to just compile a bunch of outfits that you think look good and then figure out what pattern and color palette you want to target. PWC vs herringbone, vs guncheck and the colors can make a huge difference. Also depends on how you're going to acquire and how big you want your wardrobe to be. If you're gonna be buying cheap on ebay then it's prolly fine to put in a bit less pre-work than if you're buying new. I still think it's important work to do tho

No worries. First one is a light brown guncheck from Southwick. 2nd is a brown-gray glen check (also called prince of wales check, glen plaid) from Brooks Brothers. Third is a gray herringbone, fourth is a brown herringbone, both vintage (from defunct brands). One, three, and four are 100% wool, two is 100% camelhair

Thank you very much! bigelow_ Was wondering, what kind of wool was the herringbone jackets? Were they tweed?
