Washed-Out Colours in OBS
It's not just in recording, but in preview as well. Attached is a screenshot showing the preview next to content from my PC, and you can see the difference.

Changing it from Capture Method: Automatic, to "Windows 10, 1903 and up" fixes it. Any idea why this happened to begin with though? :hmm:
No clue. That should also be the default capture method anyway
Weird. Will mark as solved. Might help someone in the future
@Thunder_God it's because of the 10bit color in the AMD control panel
That’s odd, especially since OBS has a 10-bit canvas now
Shouldn’t wash anything out
I always use 10-bit display output
It isn't. I tried changing it and nothing changed as a result.
It was the capture method in OBS for the source that was the culprit.
Fixed it for me and at least 10 other users 😅it's 10bit, without HDR. The "old" method does not handle that well. Haven't really seen it outside of AMD, so might be a specific quirk.
Personally I'd change both monitors to RGB 8bit, and reboot. Delete the display capture, and re-add, just to be safe. Never seen it fail to do the trick, and your SS shows 10bit being enabled. The fit is just too perfect 😅
Obs HDR handling works with color spaces that are HDR. I don't think 10bit sdr has correct handling on every method
Changing the capture method solved the issue for me, so why go beyond?
And I don't have HDR enabled
Yeah, whatever works 🙂 Just figured it was worthwhile letting you know what has worked for a lot of other people, and what is the most likely culprit in my experience.
was more in reference to 10bit canvas in OBS
Might be worth checking if my fix works for these other people, since my fix doesn't degrade one's image quality :hmm:
