Mod barely changes render distance
I recently installed this mod, it is the only mod I currently have installed. The only thing that changes when I turn on the mod is a very small "gap" of chunks that renders in. I tried it on 19.x and 20.x and have the same issue on both. I reinstalled minecraft and distnat horizons that dooes not change anything.

Dh renders for you, that's good.
For testing purpuses drop real render distance to 4 or 8
I'm gonna take a look at the log to see if there are other mods that could not work with generation
I dropped it to 4 and changed the Render distance of DH, it definitly renders a lot of chunks but not as many as it sould (at least I think so) This is how it looks on 256DH chunks and 4 "real" chunks:
look for changes in the distance
generating new chunks (even if this mods makes a fake ones) is hard on CPU
you can also increase CPU preset in DH settings if your CPU is at low load
It definetly keeps chunks way behind me loaded, the render distance in front of me is very low though
but without moving, do you see new chunks appear?
yes but they only appear this far. The DH render distance is set at 128
give it time
if over time stuff appears it's intended
as again, chunk generation is very slow, and it's not our fault
Yeah, wasnt intending on implying so, sorry if i game the impression. How long should it take for chunks to load in? Just to have a vague idea on how long to wait
I have an I7 8700k as a cpu if that helps
to get full 128? let's say 20min is you set CPU preset to "I paid for the whole CPU"
Yeah I set it to that, the chunks are starting to load in now though so it was probably just me being stupid, thanks for the help though I appreciate it.
using 100% CPU is not set by default as it can in theory collide with vanilla thread on low end CPU and many people with high end CPU were complaining about overheating their CPUs
(which is not our fault they can't cool CPU they paid for and overclocked)
For normal play, what CPU setting would you recommend?
"I paid for the whole CPU" is good if you have cooling appropriate to your CPU
I use it all the time since I started here
Okay, thanks a lot
