What does the Beta Warning Actually mean?
"These early betas may cause damage to your worlds/and or computer. You have been warned." - Will Iris actually cause computer damage? If so how?

computer go boom
On a serious note the only actual damage would be caused by your hardware overheating, which any other game or Iris version can already do if there is a fault in your system (such as lack of thermal compound or proper cooling)
That message is to scare noobs away
So they don’t report a bunch of repeat issues or ask for help with basic stuff
I think it should be made clear that Iris and Distant Horizons are still in early testing and we simply aren't sure what issues may arise. Computers which are improperly configured, or have poor power delivery or cooling may be damaged by demanding software, as an example. Nothing is guaranteed at this stage.
If you're not familiar with modding, software, and prepared for that risk don't use the mod

I'm mest around before. I was just a little confused with the hardware damage note because as an computer networking person I was like "how does a minecraft mod cause hardware harm"
I have a lot of free time so I just wanted to mess around with it, not use it for any gameplay or anything
