Grey grass ect. with Terralith
Hey I have the grey grass/water/leaves bug as well. I already checked the FAQ for imcompatible mods, removed any ressource packs and disabled server ressource packs. As far as I know the server does not use BClib and the better~mods, it runs Terralith/Tectonic/Incendium/Nullscape.
At first it worked with no issues even with Resource Packs installed (just some cobblemon stuff so it shouldn't touch any of the grey blocks).
After a few days most turned grey. Removing every Resource Pack and restarting only a few trees went back to looking normal.
There are alot of "biome is null" errors so that could be the reason.

I have the same problem in single player as well
Seems like Terralith is the cause

I dont have terralith and i have the same issue @Skyy
check the FAQ, there are some mods that are imcompatible and try without ressource pack as well
already did, no incompatible mods and no ressource packs
Would anyone know a way to change the grey to green somehow?
deleting the sqlite seems to only work temporarily
with just terralith and tectonic in the mix, it shouldnt happen (i used them both with dh)
can you try it on new save with just the baseline mods (dh iris sodium indium fapi) + terralith & tectonic?
Seems like I can't trigger it with just those mods or with all mods, seems like there have to happen multiple things to trigger this. teleporting into the biomes isn't enough.
not sure how I triggered it in the very first single player world, I couldn't trigger it again.
I have the bobby files of the server, if you know how to convert that into a single player world I could use that. I can ask the server owner if I can get the seed or the world download as well.
unfortunately we dont have converter for bobby file to dh
Seems like just copying the overworld mca files into the region folder of a local save works

alright so far I couldn't get the bug again with a new sqlite file but using the old one from the server I get this
for now I will just generate a new one with the world offline and put it in the server folder and see what happens
maybe something got corrupted, i'll write here if it breaks again

that's most likely from sqlite file got corrupted for some reasons
i suppose there's no log spam?

im having this as well. it was working fine until i closed and reopened the game, but now i cant recreate it either.

Ah nice so it might really be a terralith problem, what other mods do you use, can you send your modlist? Maybe we have some mods in common that could be the issue

i checked, and terralith foliage color is stored in the datapack, not a resource pack. maybe that has something to do with it?
ill play for a while with just the required mods, ill see if it happens again

this is happening to me with tectonic but no terralith & i'm on forge; i've heard indium/embeddium may be causing this problem?

i had actually installed terralith prior to this but got weird broken terrain gen & uninstalled it and started a new world... i want to try to reset the lods but i can't figure out where to do that? i deleted the sqlite file in the world data but it didn't get rid of the presence of grey blocks.
let me review my modlist i'll get back to you so we can compare what mods we have in common if you'd like
we have entityculling, ferritecore, gpumemory leak, immediatelyfast, sodium (i have embeddium, a forge fork of sodium based on rubidium, and says in the description that it may cause issues with advanced rendering), JEI, memoryleakfix, modernfix, mousetweaks, starlight, & tectonic in common
None of the similar addons we had seemed ot have a role in the issue itself. I fixed it by uninstalling & reinstalling Distant Horizons & then going into the world data & deleting the .sqlite file, which was ~171,400kb in size.
that only fixed it temporary, I guess until I went to the same biomes or something I'm still not sure

I hope a mod or someone else can take a look at this
I also run terralith and tectonic and I keep having this issue. It is intermittent and very annoying to deal withm

you're the MVP here! Did you manage to find out what causes it? I think it's some biomes or something
i'm actually not sure... i still think it could be some combination issue with other mods we have installed but i do know it isn't terralith
To my knowledge tectonic does not change any textures so I really doubt that it's tectonic causing it honestly
Other logs I've seen reported for this issue imply that it actually has to do with the texture of the block, though I

Honestly I gave up and uninstalled distant horizons. I think it'll lessen RAM usage anyways which is perfect because I'm playing mp with friends
the error sounds like dh doesn't thinks some chunks have no biome
how often can it corrupt exactly for people that use tectonic tho

Well until someone that actually works on the mod sees this thread I think we can only guess. I hope someone will take a look into it.

I do have it on the client as well. Brennan said they had the issue as well with just tectonic but I couldn't confirm that because I have no idea how to replicate the issue.

terralith is a datapack, or a mod that exclusively loads a datapack. There is no such thing as having it on the client when playing on a server. This seems to have more to do with Dh being very unhappy with datapack added biomes

Hey I just saw that you suggested making a fallback so avoid grey grass, my two cents about that would be to disable it by default so people would actually see that something is wrong and use the fallback method as a last resort if there would be no solution to whatever problem someone is having.
Maybe that's more confusing for people that don't submit bug reports or ask for help ect.
Leaving this as default would create more complaints than its worth I believe.
Making one chat message the first time this bug is encounteres might be better
Something along the lines of
Distant Horizons seem to have a problem reading the biome. Affected areas are gonna tinted as if they were plains.
I think this is actually the best solution very good idea!
