Performance loss when two displays are connected
First it bazzite will take forever to boot, and when steam bom finally launches it's constantly stuttering despite having decently powerful hardware
Rx7900XT
R7 5800X3D
And struggles to run ocarina of time (pc port) above 33 fps in hyrule Field
Gpu stats are also zeroed out in the performance overlay

This gray background with 3 dots also shows up after grub
open a terminal and enter:
copy and paste the output so we can get more information
did this happen before updating?
Im not aware of any previous updates besides a steam client update that was pushed recently
I applied an update from the steam client settings this morning
yea
rollback
How do i do that?
hold on im eating let me get the command in a minute
👍
temporary rollback:
or
select "unhide grub" and it will show grub at startup on every boot, select the 2nd boot (:1) https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/univeral_blue/original/1X/8bbe6f42bfff1e868311182f8379c77e88ddf6af.png
I got this on rollback
It just finished im going to reboot and see what changed
yeah lmk if it's better, could be a broken build rn
Fixed the performance, but my GPU monitoring on the overlay has been bugged for awhile now, is that a known issue?
yea mangohud issue
it doesn't have support for every hardware
10-4
I swear it worked on an older build
stuff breaks
Yeah
as you can see
the advantage of how we do stuff, you can literally rebase to any build of bazzite from the last 90 days
and stay there until stuff is resolved
Yeah that last update completely destroyed system stability all around
yeah we are aware of that. it was due to the kernel stuff that got pushed.
thats why i asked about updating
should be fixed soon
I heard of that, im not very informed on the whole thing of how Linux stuff works but i hear some news now and then from channels like Mr.Sujano. new linux kernel popping up and things like that
It was this update that did it from what i can see
After i applied that update thats when it started, could be wrong
no it probably was the update
we have a regression right now
👍
theres a bunch of issues on the latest which is why we plan to revert it
will all be resolved very soon
This sounds very similar to my issue: https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1087140957096517672/1216824612759928944
I wonder if the two are related
If you can run
cpupower frequency-info
on the bad build, that would show if it's the same issue as mine
In my case it has to do with the CPU being severely throttled to 2.2Ghz maximum, 550Mhz typical, and also failing to load the amd-pstate driverIn any case, it seems to be fixed now: https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/873#issuecomment-1990992055
