what i'm getting at, is it possible to use a custom domain from hostinger?

a custom domain at the root level with Hostinger, No.
a subdomain with Hostinger, Yes.
if you want your custom domain to use the root level you will need to use cloudflare's nameservers

in theory it works, although the strange thing is that I get a default Hostinger template, the ideal would be for the project I have uploaded to come out, I'm still seeing what's happening :meow_wine:

delete all the A and CAA types, then add a cname at the root back, from what railway gave you (the same one you are using for the www subdomain)
