Might be a rookiw question. Since the full update came out, can you join a friends server if they are not online? Trying to build base or play when friend is not on. Thanks.

No, you need a dedicated server for that
And i am guessing sotf doesnt have any dedicated servers? new to all this sotf stuff played early access then stopped
