Have to explore chunks to load LODs in singleplayer.
As the title says, I have to explore chunks for them to load even if I'm in singleplayer. I've tried this with other mods, without other mods, in different modpacks, and on different versions. there must be some setting or something I have on.

do you have distant generation enabled in dh settings? @Wharak
Enable Distant Generations: True
Distance Generator Mode: Features
Timeout Length in Seconds: 60
can you send your latest.log?
(

)Sorry for responding slow, was eating
ironically enough, i was also eating :D
i'll have a look, give me a sec
:PB_pizza:
oke, ty
i suggest try nightly build
nothing seems wrong in the logs. try the nightly build from #links as maybike suggested
and crank up CPU Load settings to aggressive+, then check CPU usage if it goes bonker or not.
with or without nightly build?
you can see LoD generate in real time if you tp like y=1000 then look directly below
with nightly
tbh it's for any build, but nightly has some improvement on world gen side (and more bugs too as expected :cou: )
will try
advanced options -> debug -> debug wireframe, enable both "enable debug wireframe rendering" and "show render section status" as well. check if you see anything going on
just don't forget to turn it off later :cou:
^ this too
hmm
i'll post a screenshot of what you should be seeing with those 2 turned on
nightly build appears to be working, with occational spots like this
that's a known issue with nightly atm
icic
you can try delete sqlite file and regen again
leave the world, delete the lods, then rejoin and see if this consistently occurs
/lodstoreed
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
huh neat it doesn't care about the typo in the command i wrote
any storeed :anime_drool:
How fast do LODs normally gen
:thinkge:
entirely depends on hardware
if you have an already generated world, it's really fast
is it more gpu or cpu dependent
but if it's not already generated, dh uses minecraft's worldgen to generate distant lods
lod generation happens entirely on cpu
restarted, issue seems mostly fixed
wonder why i was having that specific issue on the other build
long story short, it's alpha jank
2.0.1 is kinda special
this has been a thing for me for a long time
i just recently decided to try to get help for it
long time being like a year
holes in lods is like dh's version of herobrine
they seem to fix it every other update yet it keeps re appearing :D
I meant the needing to explore chunks to gen lods thing
right, that's a more recent issue yeah
2.0.2 nightly fixed this for some but not everyone it seems
Nightly build seems to have fixed my issues
Cheers :teri_sipjuice:
