need help installing DH with shaders
hi,
I just saw the video from AsianHalfsquat and I would like to try and see it myself!
However, I dont know how to install it...
Do I just drag the ''exposure 1.20.1'', ''tectonic 1.20.1'' and ''Iris-mc1.20.1 alpha'' files into my mod folder and install fabric?
thanks for your reply!

please read the basic channels dedicated to this
if you read onboarding, it should have directed you to #dh-compatibility-faq
i tried but theres so many chanels i dont know wich one to read ... :S
it tells you when you join
ah allright, maybe I red to quickly, thanks!
:ioa:
get a launcher
makes it sooooooo much easier
that is not helpful
why
users that barely know how to mod do not need to be bombarded with info about launchers
bombarded may be a strong work here
it is just so much easier to mod on them though
iknow how to mod... just wanted to be sure!
and some times the actual Minecraft launcher doesn't even use the mod loader
it always does
if you select the right profile
no it does not
that actually probably means they should use a launcher
modding the normal launcher is harder
what
@NoComment lily slow
for new users the vanilla launcher is going to be easiest to use because it's likely to be something that they are used to
modding the vanilla directory is easiest anyway because you can use installers like the iris installer
does everything for you then you just launch the game
oh forgot about those
while on a third-party launcher everything has to be done manually
ok ig
not at all
modrinth does eveything for you
you would legitimately be doing less work using modrinth than an installer
downloading less files
you also have to learn how to use an entirely new launcher. Not even sure what prompted the topic of launchers in the first place
vanilla is perfectly fine for 99% of users
i sayed it would make it easier
Isn't there a manual somewhere that says exactly what to download and how to install it?
well this is coming from personal experience and is kinda stupid but svc dosent work on mac on the normal launcher
probably
no
distatnt horizens?
tutorials are against the rules of the beta testing
why?
you are expected to have experience with modding your game prior to trying out the beta
nvm
yeah
mh okey... guess i wont be able to try it then
well the downloads are right here
in the uhh
yeah i have all the files
oh
you just need to put the mods in your mods folder and launch fabric
so use it then
yeah i did exactly that but I got a crash reprt
what mods do you got?
these are the files I got
you need indium
and sodium
which can be both found on modrinth
fabric api
make sure you take the mod jar from the distant horizons folder you got there
which would be easier to get if you were using the modrinth launcher
ah yeah that too
._.
modrinth would download them for you
fabric api
this should be everything i need..?
and fabric api
launcher too
💀
yeah I already installed fabric into mmy mc launcher
let's not go into launchers
fabric api, not fabric loader
oh isee
seperate mod
😼
and the launcher is craazy
oke double check... :S
should be good
now i just drag these into mods
yep
yes
does exposure use a library mod?
allright thanks for ur help... letme see if it works!
also make sure they’re all compatible on the same version
that too
using the modrinth launcher it would do it automatically
neoforge moment
🙂
TECTONIC IS ON ANYMODLOADDR
separate jars though no?
idk why i had that in all caps
no
they shouldn't be
you need that mod mentioned
yeh
wait what the heck
hey i thought it might've needed a library
this would not have happened if...
modrinth
prism is better
do yall realize you just made a tutorial
not really
how, you showed exactly what mods to install
we did not
they found the mods themselves
still a tutorial
we just showed basic modding support that applies to literally any mod
mm
which anyone can access anywhere on youtube or forums
yeah
not really
actually prsim might be slightly harder to use
how so
uhh
uhh
uhh
hmm
they are the same, only prism has more features plus more support for external services
i retract my previous statement
what features
downloading from curseforge
well
ok i got my mc running
and importing modpacks from several different sources
nice
ok
i think modrinth would still be better for beginners
as well as having separate menus for shaders, resource packs, worlds, etc. while modrinth combines almost all of them into one
or most people in general
yeah ig
still better than the normal launcher
i should re download prisim
are there any ingame settings i need to change?
this is how my game looks rn, doenst really look like dh is working
if you go to options there should be a button in the top right
top left
with settings
under video settings?
ive set everything to max
just options
next to FOV
nothing there
also I think this is a known issue that shadows only work on LoDs and not real chunks, but not sure if it's getting fixed or what
ah
sorry i havent played mc in a while xd
turn down your render distance a bit
should help
like to 20
there are shader there
oh shadows imfjdbzbehdbfb
