How Big Do The SQLite Files Get?
I recently found that DH was creating some SQLite files in my modpack, which I'm assuming was saved chunks for it to render. However, the file was quite large in size I felt, sitting at around 8-10GB. I looked online and people were saying that this was nothing to be concerned with, but it did get me thinking, will this file get any bigger? Is there a limit to the file size or will it just keep increasing the more I explore a map? I apologise if this is a silly question, but I couldn't find anything about the size of the file in any of the FAQ sections.

idk about a max size (probably indefinite as long as you have space haha) but my largest file is roughly 18GB rn and still increasing, its a huge are that i am rendering, so yeah maybe this helps. depending on how much you load it i dont think that 30GB would be impossible to achieve either haha

it could get a whole lot bigger :cou:
but James' working on rewriting the sqlite structure to be more efficient and with more compact file size
Thank you both. I may have explored quite a bit, but it wasn't anything drastic. I was doing a singleplayer run to see if everything would be alright for a server in terms of balancing as I've reconfigured drops and loot etc.
The only issue I had is that DH and XaeroPlus modify the same SQLite file as so don't get along, which was unfortunate as it means the map won't sync between players, but I can live with that. I was more concerned about the file size getting too big, especially when you have multiple people exploring different parts of the world.
Looking forward to the rewrite, I'll definitely be trying it out once it drops. Haven't played without DH since I first installed it, as it feels like a part of Minecraft for me now 😂
for reference, i find that its around 0.02mb or 20kb per chunk
