record everything in OBS except ONE source
I want to stream everything that is visible in OBS so just like normal but want to record everything except my webcam.
whats the best way to do this?
do I really have to use something like source record to capture everything seperatly and edit it back together?
cause I really dont want to encode a 4 hour-ish video again
is it a good idea to run two instances of OBS, one is streaming a scene with the webcam and the other instance is recording a different one without the webcam?

Do you want to record everything besides your webcam individually, or have one video for all the sources besides your webcam?
If it's the first option, then you would have to use source record for each source you want to record
Otherwise if you want just 1 video that has everything besides your webcam, you can create a separate scene with all those sources. Add that scene as a Scene source in your main scene, and use Source Record on that Scene source
everything in one video file except the webcam
ah nice so soruce record can record also scenes thats cool
thanks
Well you would use source record on a scene source
But yes
so it can record even a scene that isn't active?
so I put everything except the webcam into one scene
You would put everything besides the webcam into one scene
Then another scene, you have your webcam and your other scene as a source
Then you put the source record filter on that scene source
You would use this combined scene as your main one
