Current theme?
Is there any way of getting the current theme used by the solara application?

What exactly do you mean with current theme? It's possible to find the mode that the user has selected from
solara.lab.theme.dark,
and the version of the theme that is actually implemented on the front-end from
solara.lab.theme.dark_effective
(requires the newest version of ipyvuetify, in case you haven't upgraded yet, btw)
