FPS drops when using the distant horizons mod

As the title suggests. FPS tanks to ~45 with the lowest LOD render distance of 50 chunks. At the default 256 chunks, getting around 10 fps at best. Running on version 1.19.4. For reference, without DH and render distance cranked to 32 chunks, I can run a shader mod and still reach stable 60fps. (I should be able to reach higher but Minecraft has capped to 60fps and I'm still trying to fix that). Reference images with all my specs: Image 1 (without shaders) is running DH, 29 chunk render and 50 chunk LOD render Image 2 (with shaders) is NOT running DH, 32 chunk render

iirc by default there is no 60 frame cap - check the vsync is off - in video settings main page there should be slider with frame cap furthermore, note that vanilla F3 menu is terribly optimized

Yeah I've tried both of these but it won't uncap.. fairly sure it's not capped through my gpu software either. And minecraft bedrock runs uncapped. Plus my monitor is 165Hz so vsync shouldn't be capping to 60 anyway I removed the DH mod for the 2nd picture, hence why I'm getting 60fps on that

vsync=cap to 60fps at a low end vsync syncs ur frame rate with what it thinks is your monitor refresh rate (literally all game, vsync =60hz) i have 165hz aswell turning vysnc on caps to 60 its like a better version of just capping ur fps to 60 so turn that off, and raise ur fps cap to 160ish depending on ur specs

Right well already tried disabling vsync, doesn't do anything

did u also raise ur fps cap? you need to do both you also have to make sure that in windows, w10/11 actually picks up the extra hz cos by defualt all monitors go to 60hz

Yep raised fps cap, disabled vsync, made sure my monitor was at 165Hz, checked for possible caps in Nvidia app, but still being capped to 60
