Are you using any third party clients like Lunar, BadLion, Feather, Prism, etc.?
nope just curseforge
i have a big modpack so it could be overriding something but ive looked down the list and i cant find anything that would be the issue
im using Create Perfect World modpack
Check if you can access the shaders menu via the F3 + O shortcut.
cant
ive checked my mods folder and I 100% have iris in there
so im confuse
d
What version of Iris and Sodium do you have?
Does the modpack has a configuration file somewhere? Try checking if there's an option in that file that disables shaders loading.
do you know if litematica messes with shaders at all?
Wait, is this a Forge modpack?
Yes
Okay I don't know if shaders are supported natively for Forge yet. I heard a Forge port is in the works, no idea if that has been released. Need somebody from the Iris team to help. Sorry for that.
aight cool
do you know if Iris is the only thing that supports shaders? @hardester
or just iris
Iris enables shaders support on Sodium.
I feel like the reason you're not getting shaders menu because both Iris and Sodium are not loaded in the first place.
probably yeah
i've heard optifine works?
Those two mods, to my current knowledge, are Fabric mods. And Fabric mods are incompatible with Forge.
You could try, but Optifine is notorious for being incompatible with mods.
well
I see that you have Oculus, an unofficial Forge port of Sodium. As a performance mod, it may does its job. However, shaders is probably out of the question if it can't load shaders.
alr
THX
Rubidium and embeddium are the forge ports of sodium, oculus is the forge port of Iris
@Huju if you want Iris on forge for now you have to use oculus. You already have rubidium or embeddium by the looks of it
Sodium and Iris are coming to NeoForge in the future but if Forge compatibility is deemed to be too much trouble that won’t happen and it will be NeoForge only
now whenever I click video settings my game crashes lol
since oculus is unofficial, you'll have to get support from the developer(s) of oculus
but I recommend trying the thanos method to see if it's another mod causing the crash
The Thanos Method
What is The Thanos Method?
- The Thanos Method (more accurately known as a binary split) is a debugging technique used to find the mod or mods that are causing the issues you are experiencing.
How does it work?
- The Thanos Method is simple. To find the conflicting mods, split your mods folder into 2 groups. Remove one group, and test in-game. Keep the group that has the problem, and repeat until no more mods can be removed without the issue disappearing. Thanks to The Thanos Method, you can now enjoy an issue free modded Minecraft!
