Where else can I hone my close range skills ?

Just as mark said, you could ask in #pubg-mobile for friendly 1v1s which'll help u improve a bit if you analyze the 1v1s or you could practice in WOW maps, i don't know any but you can try asking for some cqc WOW codes in the offical pubgm WOW server
